That was a fun game to watch! I don't know if the bats are just coming around or if our feast on Toronto pitching is continuing. But, really, who cares? lol. Winning is fun!
Hopefully Grayson has a good outing tonight and tomorrow night we get to face off against one of our old mediocre draft picks, Kevin Gausman.

Yeah Kyle started teetering a bit but it was great to see him recover and have another quality start.

...he pitched lights OUT. That was a great introduction AND it speaks volumes about Adley and how he calls a game. Flaherty commented after the game how much the guys knew about the BlueJays and it really was easy to just go with their knowledge. That's huge. What a great signing! Doesn't hurt that it was from ME's grooming ground...

If only the Rays would lose lol. It's a very fun team to watch. Given how young they are, we are set for a very long time which we haven't been able to say in a long time.

Yeah, can't control what other teams do.
This is a critical point in the long grind of the season. If Hyde and good fortune can keep these guys focused and healthy they should be in a good place going into the tournament.

We just completely took advantage of the Mets last night. Couple hustle plays to keep the bottom of the 6th and 7th going beating out singles and the next thing you know it's a football score. I think they stole a half dozen bases in those two innings. Unreal.
Also, something I love to see is good base running. When you've made good contact and the ball and the pursuit of it is in your vision the whole time you are on the right side of the field, going to first and proceeding to second, and you can get on your horse to stretch a single into a double, you should. Twice last night, Gunnar later - whose really starting to make great contact, and I think Adley both did this. Westburg scoring from first was running on the pitch. Urias, did it too later when he scored from first with that close play that was reviewed and upheld as safe - ran thru the STOP, lol. Best base running of the year. I don't know whether the Mets were slow playing batted balls or what, but the Orioles seemed just zoned in on the bases.
The DEF and pitching were also excellent. Great game.

Well, seems like the bats have come alive. Wonder what this series would have looked like with both Scherzer and Verlander in the Mets rotation. Doesn't matter really, tho. I'm loving seeing our guys go with pitches for opposite field hits. Not just hits, but extra bases pretty often. And I don't know if it's just that I'm noticing it because the Mets are struggling with fundamentals, but we are VERY solid. We hit cutoffs, we're quick in getting to balls whether caught or fielded and getting the ball in, we're positioned well in the field, we protect the plate and stay alive in counts, excellent base running - This is really fun baseball to watch.

Would be some good damn news after this fiasco with the Kevin Brown suspension.
The Angelosi clearly hate announcers and anyone in the Realm who doesn't glorify everything the team does.
I can't wait for baseball tonight. Such an exciting series. Hope our guys are not distracted.
