Yeah, maybe 3 if we can get on of the top 2 RBs
Running backs fly off the board in RDs 2-4. By the time we're in RD3 you can definitely still find a good RB, but at that point you've likely only taken either 1 WR or 1 CB. Don't see us taking a RB day 1 or 2 realistically. Either back end of the draft or maybe they will try the mega UDFA RB council this year like they did at WR last year. Probably have better odds at RB that way

Yeah. Just make it cheap, baby

Adding on to how Monken may effect personnel, Ben Cleveland was an outstanding RG under Monken his last year at UGA. Maybe BC gets the nod at LG this year after Powers walks.

Cleveland has been better in pass protection than as a run blocker, so maybe he'll fit better in Monken's scheme. Also I like the idea of two huge Guards to protect the smaller Linderbaum, that's how Philly always does it with Kelce.

That'd be the best outcome, but Cleveland will need to step up his game to become a better option than Mekari for that position. I have hope he will. The Ravens are quite good at developing/improving interior O line.

He is already quite good.
I didn't realize Monken coached Cleveland, so that's great!

That's how I hope we do it. Though it's supposedly a good RB draft, so maybe we can get a useful RB2/3 with that 199 pick.

Either way, this is the last year of JK's rookie deal, so I hope we make him the clear number one getting 80-90% of the carries, to get some value from the pick, so hopefully RB2 & 3 will be back ups this year, rather than the 1B/1C options.

Hopefully JK doesn't want too crazy of a deal though. Maybe he can get 2k this year?

JK's great but I wouldn't re-sign him. He already had a lot of carries on his legs from college and he's only played 22 reg. season games out of 50 as a Raven, but he's too good to be cheap.

Clark will be traded or released probably around when FA opens. They'll want the cap space earlier.
Plus, realistically, he's not fetching any good draft pick. Certainly a day 3 pick, and probably a late one at that (if they get one at all).
SS and LB get nothing in trades. it sucks

I guess. Also it's most certainly not way too high, Joe fricking Mixon gets paid that much, and JK's like 20 times better
Mixon has been much more productive (and durable) than Dobbins, and Mixon is still overpaid at $12M a year.

Short of generational-type RBs, which Dobbins isn't it, I'm rarely giving out second contracts to RBs, and I'm pretty much never paying more than like $10M a year for one. They're just not valuable.

well that's your opinion.
Mixon averages 3 yards apop

Well especially when I think Clark is viewed as a pretty average Safety league-wide. I think he fits better here than he would a lot of teams.
A lot of people were pretty high on Deshon Elliott, and he signed for the vet minimum basically when he left.

He deserved at least 10m a year. Detroit got a DEAL

No, he averages 4 yards a pop, which is about average league-wide. Also averages 7.5 yards/attempt in the passing game and gets a good amount of volume there too, which is what you want out of your RBs in 2023.
JK is also good.
I'm talking Mixon last year, not career. He's declining
