The 2023 Offseason Thread

not so sure I agree with this at all. Not like we would have had Orlando Brown past the 2021 season.
I guess it depends on how you look at it.
Technically speaking, they're not "wrong". Right now, Orlando Brown is a better player than any part of the trade the Ravens got or drafted, and the Chiefs did utilize that draft pick well. And obviously those guys are key reasons to the why the Chiefs won.

But for me, it also doesn't matter, because of the lack of options. There really wasn't an option to not trade OBJ. He was never staying here.

Moses was very good last year and they could not afford to pay Brown anyway. Not sure how we can say they the Ravens have not had a legit RT when we saw them have one last year.

We need to stop missing in the draft so much. Especially in the later rounds with WR's.

Later round WRs are usually hoping to be 4s or special teams players. I am more concerned about missing on the day 1 and day 2 WRs.

Overall the drafting has been fine. The rise of Queen makes 2020 look solid and last year was a fantastic class. The classes with first round WRs look less good because they keep missing on that position.

I don't disagree with the trade portion, but definitely wrong to say we haven't had a legit RT since. AV was a bust of a signing in 2021 but Moses was more than solid last year. Would also say that even if we had kept OBJ, we would not have tagged him and he'd have been off this team after the 2021 season anyways.

Still think there's hope for Oweh too although the clock is ticking.

he finished the season well, clearly had a poor year 2, but it was nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be
he still has outrageous traits, and flashes crazy rushes - just infrequent and sometimes spends too long just not putting it together

think he'll be helped by a reset this offseason, maybe have a think about his flexibility in the strength/conditioning this year and continue working with Ojabo, Bowser and hopefully Campbell and Houston still on those hands and counters

it's really not doom and gloom with Oweh

he's great with pressure, but can't get sacks

Or the times we look passed WRs in the 1st round and take a TE.............

important note on EB and Washington...

the inference being that EB's not going to washington which suggests he's staying in KC or coming to Baltimore (not in the running for the indy HC job anymore as far as im aware)

I mean that was 5 years ago and Andrews was simply better that year so they traded Hurst who clearly is a solid TE himself. They then drafted WR in the first 2/3 times which means that in 3/4 years their first round pick was a weapon for the QB. The Ravens just keep missing on weapons for the QB which is unfortunate but clearly are taking shots.

I still haven’t forgiven them for it. I don’t understand what they say in Hayden over Ridley.
