You’ll see it in action with or without Lamar, and Lamar being on the roster has zero effect on the health of the defense. This makes no sense at all

I'm not suggesting it is. Though bringing Lamar back isn't an "upgrade". It's lateral to what you've had the last few years.
The point is extending Lamar is just one step. It's not THE step or all of the steps.
If you extend him and there's no upgrades to the WR room, or Cornerback room, or added depth in other spots, there's very little prospects of additional wins occurring.

Compete for what? A division title? Sure.

We take the same team we had last year, and run it back, not only won't we win the division, but we'll be an underdog in any playoff game we play.

Not to mention you're going to lose starting players with or without a Lamar extension. So they'll need to be replaced in some form or fashion.

Yeah but that's also because fans are hypocrites.

They want maximum transparency for player injuries, personnel decisions, etc. from the front office, but the GM comes out and says literally the most obvious thing possible, which is that the WR room isn't talented enough to compete, and people now decide "o he shouldn't be saying that publicly".

So fans don't really want transparency. They only want transparency when its convenient for them to have it, and when its information they arbitrarily think they "need".

Literally nobody cared what about what EDC said when he said it. They didn't care a month ago when he said practically the exact same thing. There was no public outrage whatsoever. The outrage only occurred when another person reacted to it.

That's just how the public "rolls". They wait to be told when they're supposed to be outraged, then pounce on it.

We dnt have to win the division to make playoffs nor do we have to be the favorites to win a playoff game lol.. anyway, all im saying is that we dnt need to get all that much better.
