Hate the idea of giving up Ogbonnia Okoronkwo. He's quietly been terrific for two years as one of the league's more efficient pass rushers, especially during the second half of last year. Was a menace as a wide-9. But positional value be damned, Bijan Robinson is one of my favorite prospects in this class. Strongly considered him for Philadelphia and had to make the jump to ensure I he goes to Buffalo. I'm still a fan of Cook, drafted him last year. But Robinson should make it even tougher to put a spy on Josh Allen.
Robinson would have been there

I love Robinson, just talked about him with a friend. But a RB hardly ever puts a Team ove rthat last hurdle for a SB, especially in the last years. I love him as a prosopect, he is a beast, just don't know if a RB is worth it and gets a team a SB. Would be interrsting to see him on the Bills though with Allen and the rest.

So you're saying he wouldn't have made it past the Chargers.

you are dead to me, that is all I am saying

I'm sorry. I knew Robinson wasn't long for the 20s with Austin Ekeler gone. I understand what you mean about getting over the hump. But I think this is more of a move to remain in contention, to keep from falling off of the proverbial hump. Among the best recent examples of it are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Granted, there were losses on the offensive line, and Tom Brady's personal woes were a factor. But one of the most underrated aspects of their 2020 SuperBowl run was the success of Ronald Jones II (despite their almost comical tendency for mid-guard rushes on 1st and 10) and the postseason emergence of Leonard Fournette. With Jones II allowed to walk in a prioritization of the latter, they struggled to keep drives together and became one of the more inefficient record-setting offenses of all-time. Does the RB have to be of an elite-level caliber? No. But it helps considering their consistency. So I don't think it makes the Bills a bigger contender, but given that they're always among the favorites and the roster turnover wasn't massive, I'm hopefully extending the window with Robinson.

Fuck! I knew I should have traded up. I knew I would have to jump LA at 22 since Ekeler was cut but I didn’t anticipate him going to 15. Bijan was my target since I held pick 9 and I thought I could trade back and still land him. Good pick Truth. I love the dudes game.

If the Ravens (in real life) could fill WR/CB needs before the draft (unlikely I know) but I wouldn’t be mad about adding Bijan.

Dude, I'm sorry. I was looking at the teams below and the only ones I could likely fully rule out were Seattle, Jacksonville and New York, and I just didn't like my odds of nabbing him at 27. There was another prospect I wanted badly, but you guys were at that perfect sweet spot where it's not too early for an RB and the top guy would be on the board. So I just didn't foresee a way that Robinson would be there at 28.

I think Robinson is super interesting as a target for us because I absolutely would not mind him. But with us re-signing Hill and keeping Edwards, I don't know how likely it would be. I'd also imagine Dobbins would want an immediate trade.

Haha no worries Truth. It’s part of the game. I knew we were getting in that range where he would always be in consideration. He definitely wasn’t making it to the back end of R1.

Yeah I don’t see it being likely either but it’s fun to imagine LJ and Robinson in a backfield together.

Yeah I disagree on RB not getting a team over the hump. I think if you have the rest of the team together as a contender, RB is a position where you can get a guy to come in early and make an impact. Their top years align best when a team’s window is open. If the prospect is good enough it definitely helps. 2 examples I can think of are Zeke and Fournette in their rookie years. Cowboys and Jags went down due to not having the guy at QB(Dak was a rookie and Bortles wasn’t that dude) but both made serious noise those years.

Well i filled those needs, but didn't draft him... I wouldn't want Bijan, more of a RB2 RB3 back kind of guy

Right. That's basically how I view it. Value is contextual. In this case, is the running back incoming to complement the QB or to elevate them? If it's the latter, it could mask the potential issues, but it likely won't resolve them. It might extend the playoff contention but not result in more than that in a vacuum. But that's judging the move as the solution. In Josh Allen's case, he's arguably one of the Top 5 players a franchise would build around. He is the show, so the connection between him and Diggs could carry the water with or without Robinson. What Robinson does is add to the foundation instead of serving as the stabilizing agent. When Allen and Diggs aren't connecting, he can contribute enough to squeak out the otherwise potential defeats. And from this class, he's likely the best option to serve as that complement.

Good for you? He still wasn't making it to 28. No idea why you'd stake the claim in permanence when it was this unlikely to be incorrect.

The thing is 'generational' RBs never make it to a contender because they usually get picked Top 5-7. Those Teams most of the time don't have a Q or a ultra bad roster, in neither of those situations a team is a super bowl hopeful by adding a RB.
If for whatever reason Robinson would slide to the mid 20s selecting him could turn the right team into an absolute favorite for the SB. Teams like the Chargers, Bills, Chiefs who have a terrific passing attack would become almost undefendable on Offense with a RB like Robinson. If the D spreads out to stop the passing attack Robinson would just destroy them against a light box. The Chargers have had Ekeler while he is a good RB he is not a downhill I'm gonna end you RB that forces teams to stack a box.
Top Tier Teams never get a generational RB in his prime, the 9ers tried this year with the CMC.

To me with how low of value a RB is in the NFL I would absolutely shy away from drafting one in the first round, unless I am one of the above mentioned teams. So for Truth I actually like the pick.

Having said that I'd completely hate it if EDC would draft him (hypothetically speaking as he will be far gone once we pick, I assume)

the Ravens have one

Was very curious to see where Levis went in this. I had too many questions to move up personally, but if he had made it to the back of round 1, I'd have probably taken my chances with the Saints. Feels like the ultimate boom or bust guy.

I considered him with my pick, but eventually decided to put my faith in Lance
