2023 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

To be honest I was surprised he was still there. Personally though I don't quite see the hype surrounding him, granted I only watch the "vs." Videos on Youtube and don't have access to All-22s which makes evaluating WRs and DBs pretty hard, but at USC he primarily ran hitches, tunnel screens and Gos (at least in the games I've seen). While he is ok after the catch its hard to judge his route running for me, which should be by far his best trait according to numerous outlets, once he ran a different route his route running didn't wow me though.

Then again Daniel Jeremiah and other outlets have him ranked really high and sometimes even as the #1 WR. I think DJ even has him in his top 10 overall, I on the other hand am just some random weirdo on the internet so he'll propably turn out really good.
Unfortunately, USC didn't utilize him as well as they could have. He won the Biletnikoff Award in 2021 at Pitt for a reason. Watch some of those highlights or films and you'll see why people are high on him

That was my thought on him. Don't really care about much of his blocking skill right now. Guy can run a route, get open, and make stuff happen with the ball in his hands. Not too dissimilar from Evan Engram who I didn't have a chance to retain for the Jags.
Most definitly from a pure receiving standpoint he is really good and seems to be a super smart route runner

Sorry everyone had to deal with all of the bullshit for the duration of this game. Appropriate action has been taken and we’re getting everything organized and back on track.

Pick is in, pretty surprised I was able to land a top Guard prospect at the bottom of round 1. Instant day 1 starter for me as I rebuild the Commanders offensive line.

Anyone who has played this game in years past knows I refuse to overpay for average OL. Thought I was able to get some solid options for cheap in FA and now get to add Broderick Jones to the competition. He needs some development for sure but has so many intangibles that you just can’t teach a guy that size.

Love the Broderick Jones pick. He's possibly my favorite OT prospect in this class, and I was considering trading multiple picks to get him. Did not expect him to be available this late.

Nor did I. Had some other guys I liked as well so was content taking the risk that he'd make it once he got into the early 20s, and I lucked out.

Also really like the Mayer pick. I had been waffling between him and Kincaid at my pick with the Jags, and ultimately opted Kincaid just because of the pass catching prowess. In Mayer, not sure there's a better all around player.

When I traded up to 15, it was between Robinson and Jones. I was attempting to trade into the teens weeks ago and it was specifically for Jones, but then I traded for Braxton Jones. And even then, I was considering taking Jones and moving him to guard. Or keeping him at LT and trading Dion Dawkins. I feel like Jones might be my favorite to start immediately and do well right away.
