Next Up: Vs. Broncos

O-line play definitely improved duirng that stretch but you can't discredit the "caliber" of players that was on that roster in comparison to today's roster. Those boys back then made an impressive run during the playoffs once they got there by winning in Denver and Foxboro.

Then to endure the fiasco of the lights being cut off on them and sitting for 34 mins in the Super Bowl and then to stave off the resurging comeback of the "younger" 49ers to win it all? Now that was an impressive roster. Definitely an impressive roster compared to the players on today's roster imo!
Didn’t mean to discredit anyone. Just wanted to point out that the 2012 squad was just as inconsistent(everyone is inconsistent) as many other years. Difference being they faught through it and came together to overcome the inconsistencies. The key for me that put them over the top was the improved O line play.

Nah. The key was 4th&29

i can only think of one time this year that i saw allen run anything other than a typical rb route to any effect - im not saying he's not useful but i think you are overestimating his abilities tbh
Going back to last year he had a pretty impressive TD against Cleveland where the play was extended and he rolled to his right and caught the throw on the run. He probably stole a TD from Boyle but it was a play that not a lot of RBs could make. He also made a similar play against Tennessee where they ran a PA roll out where he ran a wheel and caught the TD pass. A typical route for an RB but it was fluid and you just see how well he quickly catches and turns into a runner.

Going back to his College days, I was a huge fan of Allen because of his receiving abilities which was highly touted in the draft. He averaged 11.3 YPC to go along with 63 catches in two seasons. I really feel like it's a skill set not utilized enough since he's arrived here.

My mistake! I didn't mean "you" personally when I stated that "you can't discredit..." I was speaking in general.

But, I agree with you on the "technical" level that the O-line improved but to me it was also the "caliber" of players on that roster that turned that thing around as well. Those men dug deep within themselves! They had heart, grit, tenacity and swagger to overcome the inconsistencies as you mentioned but from these past few Ravens teams? I haven't seen much "overcoming" of their inconsistencies but way too much "succumbing" to their inconsistencies. And therefore again; I'm sick of it! LOL!!!

If they struggle again vs the broncos then there is no arguement here. The O line sucks..by sucks I mean it's what will stop us from achieving the playoffs. Simple as that.

And after nearly 10 days rest to recuperate at that! Hopefully, our guys (like me) will want to get the bad taste of that primetime debacle against the bengals out of their mouths with a solid win over the broncos.

Well, it’s not like Von Miller and Chubb are slouches. I agree we need to win but to say if they struggle against one of the most dominant pass rushers in the game and someone who is also extremely talented is a bit unfair.

Nonsense. if we let the defense tackle us just ONCE, I am boycotting the team. Fucking unacceptable.

No they are not slouches! So who wins the battle on Sunday? Von, Chubb or the Ravens O-line?

Especially on the road. When was the last time we've been a quality team on the road?

No I didn't. Did a quick Google search on CHJ and I didn't find anything.

Just WAIT until we play then. Next thing you know, "Have the Steelers turned the corner?" or "Are the Steelers the favorite in the AFC?"

It was so weird cause I couldn’t find anything online either. There’s a YouTubed named brandan perna I love who had it in his recap. I took a screenshot but I can’t post it for some reason

Agreed, it's a really good front and I wouldn't be suprised, now if they struggle against the Raiders for example then we're going to have some serious problems but I strongly feel that the Bengals have the best pass rush in the league FWIW and this is a new line so to say if they suck against Denver as well then they're going to be awful for the entirety of the year is a rushed rationale. I still think this line can reverse judgement quickly if Ronnie Stanley and Alex Lewis can return to form.

To be fair, the rest of their front seven is bad. We have to run them inside and target their LB in the passing game.

A good run game is the best way to nullify a good pass rush. We need to establish the run early so we can be less predictable. Simple as that

I have some advice for everyone. Don't watch the news feed over the next coming days as it pertains to who's practicing and who's not. It's going to make everyone upset. I expect chuck clark to also have an injury.

I'm actually somewhat tempted to space out and not watch the game and just see the score afterwards. It's no fun watching this team lol

had a thought earlier. If Kenny young develops like we hope he can maybe instead of overpaying mosely we can do the following
Cut JImmy
Cut Weddle

Get Jordan Hicks
Get Ronald Darby
Get Earl thomas

Draft best possible pass rusher in the first ( i'd be willing to trade our 1st and following years 1st for Ed Oliver or Nick Bosa)
Draft 2 Guards in round 3

Probably going to need to trade more than that to get Nick Bosa. That guy will likely be a top-5 pick like his brother. I guess it depends on where you think we will end up drafting but if we’re outside the top ten, I’d wager we’d have to give up 2 1st round picks and a 3rd and possibly another pick depending on the demand from other teams. We could also get out from under Jefferson’s contract if we chose to do it next year as well.

sorry guys. I see us with the classic 8-8 record.

Harbaugh will again find a way to screw us and look on the bright side.

A lot will depend on how we win our next 3 games with a depleted talent pool. We absolutely must improve our O line before the trade window closes.

one thing that im a little surprised no one is talking about. on our first series on D, 2nd play...i watched the Aj green fumble which was deemed incomplete. That was worth challenging and would have changed the outcome of the game. Why the fuck didnt harbs challange that? would have saved us the next play where cj get's injured and would have put us in the redzone.

Honestly because I think it was borderline and too close to really turn over the incomplete ruling. I initially shared the same opinion as you but after the replay I agreed with him not throwing the challenge flag.
