(Never) Too Early Prospect Watch

Evidently, our issues are deeper than just QB at the moment.
Yes but good QB plays would make up for a lot of those.
The real question is where do we draft one within the first three rounds. The class is loaded at the position similar to 2012. we might be able to find a guy in the third.

I think we do address one in the first three rounds. Fix the oline through FA, possibly pick up another WO, get ourselves an oline man in the first round, then QB in the second round(Luke Falk I think would be a fit here as well), RB in the third.

i havent watched all the qbs in the draft but i think there's a bit of a dropoff tbh - im not sure how many qbs after the top 3-4 im taking in the first 2 days - theres a few guys who look like they'd be good backups in the league but without the talent to be elite qbs but im not sure there's a day 2 guy id want at this point - ideally though i'd like a project/falling prospect round 2 (happens sometimes with guys like kizer this year or jimmy g/derek carr) and an oline guy like quenton nelson round 1

Well the anwser lies in where we pick. We pick top ten? Let's ensure one of the top3 and if it's Allen wait for him to develop. We pick later? We can trade back and get Falk, then pick some OL (Price, for example) and weapons (a lot of WR I'd consider on Day 2 and even more RBs) with the extra picks. Or we could wait a round or two later like you said and go for a Clayton Thorson, Mason Rudolph, Jarett Stidham...

There's a dropoff but a lot of these guys I think have some starting potential... But need to sit on the bench and work shit out. There are guys that'll go day 2 that I think could be good ala Mason Rudolph. Luke Falk. Clayton Thorson. There's a lot of talent even if they're not ready to start yet.

Falk has good showings and bad. He's an Ideal WCO QB but has a good arm and can make all the throws at the NFL level, good in the pocket, accurate. HE can also take a beating but he needs to get bigger. He'd work here I think. He needs some work but he has some tools. I've been watching the dude for a few years. He's good.

The bolded parts sound like Flacco too. :(

I also noticed their is a ton of O line depth in this draft. Like easily every top 16 pick could be a reciever, lineman and qb. (Besides barkley) I really don't hate our line too much going into next year. Stanley, duh, Lewis, pretty good. Good at pass blocking and we need that. Center: resign Jensen. Rg: yanda has 2 more good years in him. Rt: could upgrade but Howard is solid. I think goose will be a very good starting guard in this league also. I think we could improve at tackle but the difference in what we need at qb is far greater.

Say we're picking top 10 but out of range for a first round qb, Would you take falk with our 2nd?

His size isn't a concern for you? I have to admit I am skeptical of small qbs. Granted this isn't the same afc north as when we took flacco, but still, with small qbs I want an elite OL. When joe was playing great, one of his best assets was being able to deliver throws in a weak pocket and shed pass rushers, that ability is LOOOONG gone, but in his prime it was there in spades. I like that in a qb, it's why I've always respected roethlisbergers game so much

He can move within the pocket though and has toughness. We do need an elite oline anyway. But Falk looks good. I do think if we keep it up and do somehow go 2-14, then we should just stay put and take Rosen
