The Good, the Bad, and the Harbaugh

I’m really, really hurt over this loss. Flacco and harbs is the only thing I have ever known, considering they got here when I was 6. It just sucks seeing such a talented roster fail over and over...

I got a few major takeaways

1. Maybe this was what it will take for us to realize defense won’t get you wins in this league anymore. We dominate against bottom 16 teams but why real offense litteraly tears is up. If the Steelers wanted to they could have easily hung 40 but realized that isn’t the key to the game

2. The defense is the fakest shit on this entire team. I hate that we ate first in sacks that’s the biggest bullshit ever. Disregard that sack today because it ment jack shit and he took it on purpose.

Vs Ben (twice) cam, Brees, and dalton; we had 2 sacks and 1 forced turnover. Our lack of turnovers is completely disgusting and I’ve never seen blitzes be so useless but keep getting called.

3. Don’t talk about Lamar starting. He will get eaten up. Our line is a joke. Lamar has come A LONGGGG way. He is not close to being close to ready. Him in means no threat of a pass over 20 yards and completely removes John brown our only above average threat from the game. Lamar’s development will be done if we throw him in. Not to mention we have 0 run game still. Our line will be better with Stanley but if you think Lamar at this stage would have done have decent with our line play today I don’t even know what to tell you.

4. Coaches, simply fuck all of them not named Jerry. Just disgusting they act like we have the raiders roster.

5. I got one positive and it’s that we technically aren’t done yet. Not because our team gave us any reason to hope but because of how bad the rest of the afc is. 5 teams are playoff locks but it’s between us the dolphins and the bengals for the last spot. 10-6 should get us in and if the bengals collapse collapse maybe just maybe 9-7. They still have the chargers, Saints, us, and the Steelers. All of those are away except the best team the saints.

They play otherwise shit teams in the browns twice and Oakland, but it might be lowly possible the broncos help us. And aj green is out for a good stretch of time. It means nothing if we can’t ravk off a few (which looks unlikely) but that’s the only optimism I have.

Why is everyone excusing Jerry? Special teams has been horrid all year. Screw him too.

But I’m no sure where you’re getting this idea that Lamar isn’t even close to being ready. We have no idea where he’s at besides these couple of plays we see every week and he looks great.

If he was ready to throw the ball down the field he would have attempted it but I’m sure they’ve put a lock on him. They need to make sure his form is good underneath first. If you put him in the chiefs offense he’d be ready. With Marty’s play calls and our line he is not.

Should have rephrased it as he is not ready for our team. I would hate to see him out there. We don’t have a run game so he’d be forced to throw close to 40 Times a game like flacco is being. He hasn’t shown anything on any sort of deep pass but that was one of his problems, but with no attempts I wouldn’t count it as a negative but it can’t be a positive.

Our special teams hasn’t been that bad. No run backs so far and the coverage has been good. Punting has been amazing, no long snapping issues. We had one fg blocked due to an illegal play by the broncos and then the fg against the browns was an amazing perfectly timed play by the browns guy along with Boyle who’s usually good on the end fucking up. The only real fuck up on our part was by trying to play tyus Bowser on the punt team. I don’t think we’re bad enough to chop the special teams coach head off, but for all we know tomorrow morning maybe they blame Jerry and extend Marty lol..

Let me also say the Steelers really don’t have the division yet. I don’t think we have it either but their schedule is brutal facing teams all better than them.
If the panthers pick up the Thursday win which I bet they do, the Steelers go to Jacksonville next and that could go either way. They also have the chargers and the patriots left, along with the saints on the road and the broncos in Denver where they always struggle.

Hensley and jeff tweeted multiple times flacco had a hip injury after the 2 big hits on the first drive. They should have went with lamar, it was the perfect excuse

Flacco made that decision...not Marty. And Lamar shouldve handed the ball off in that situation.

Flacco does not decide who option 1 is on a play and Lamar running himself is fine just go inside. Why even call a play with an outside option considering circumstances?

That was a designed power sweep from the get go and the playcall was dumb as fuck considering how hard the Steelers played outside contain, they literally just crashed the whole DL whichever direction lamar ran and had every standup player flow over and stay back until they squeezed him in too tight a space. Honestly the way they played lamar runs yesterday would’ve been perfect to counter it with, well, counters, along with maybe a wildcat stretch to give lamar his choice of cutback lane, when the defense is throwing the whole goddamn house to the outside for contain, it can be exploited. Not by Marty though!

Was the missed td to crabtree tipped or just an awful throw? They never showed a replay
It was tipped IIRC. But that also goes back to Flacco having all these tipped balls.

That’s a new one and I didn’t know that. Probably serves us right for having Eleumenor out there at LT. Yeah I agree they should have. It would’ve really surprised PIT and maybe given us a slight edge

It doesnt excuse the missed pass to crab and not seeing lj, a bad him isnt to blame for them. But he had quite a few dead ducks yesterday that he doesn't normally have so he may have been hindered a touch.

On a side note we need to see more of moore. Ive been calling for it since the saints game. Teams are taking away john brown and more is the only one that actually offers any sort of deep threat

It wasn’t the soft coverage
It wasn’t the soft coverage, it was that we blitzed Mosley every fucking third down and they continued to attack the hole he left. And the Steelers ran a shit ton of rub routes and you can’t press on those because you’ll have dbs running over each other.
Thinking you should go back and take a look. I understand Mosely not being in the middle and the picks, but there were at least 3 instances where they showed an isolated view of the third down catches where the DB lined up directly across from the WR. No bump, no hands, no nuthin' to disrupt the timing. Just a free run across the middle with the DB chasing him through his route.

This team has looked so uninspired after the missed PAT to end the Saints game. I feel like Harbs has officially lost this team and we need to start seeing some changes. Tired of seeing the same BS year after year.

It doesnt really matter if they dont win the div, we know for sure theyre making playoffs. Aj green is in a walking boot for idk how long so that there basically gives them an even more advantage..i thought we would make playoffs at 1st but ive came to realize its the same old flacco. we can basically only afford to lose one more game, so yea like they been saying, our season over

I most def saw this every time lol.

Some other thoughts.
Does Wink's scheme leave the middle of the field intentionally open because he knows we can't cover it anyways? I felt the Steelers knew on every blitz which part of the field they wanted to target.
How many snaps did ricard play? I can't remember him playing a defensive snap. It was an awful decision to activate ricard instead of Maxx. Our offensive line needed every help they could've possibly get.
Brandon Williams.......... He wasn't even on the field for the 3rd and 1 play late in the game. He used to take on double teams, nowadays he doesn't even win 1 vs. 1. Pierce on the other hand gets off the double team and makes the run stop himself.
