Keys to the Game
  1. TDs not FGs
  2. ZDS pressure up the middle
  3. Michael Pierce making KC 1-dimensional
  4. Create positive defensive plays on 1st down to prevent hurry up
Flushing him out of the side worries me, so we have to have a good edge set. We really need Bowser's speed here

#1 ... Same as yours - TDs not FGs
#2 ... see #1 ...
#3 Mistake free football
#4 Control the clock
#5 If you get all of the above, the defense doesn't need to be perfect. Just a couple key stops.

Yea Hill and Kelce is going to a huge issue for us. We need to get pressure from the outside to keep Mahomes in the pocket and Henry and Bwill are really going to have to hold their own. We can not afford a single turn over and we have to force one.

Also, all points matter, but we need to get TDs every chance we get. Red zone FGs will be the death of us against a team like this
I think you mean Pierce, because Henry is on IR

By the way, speaking of defense, is T-Will gonna be available for this game? Lord knows we need at the speed we can get for this defense against this young stud of a QB.

Tim Williams has been out for how long now? 5 weeks? He needs to get his ass back on the field.

I rewatched the game and every snap until alex lewis got injured again for the millionth time

This guy isn't starting material and and upgrade in LG would have been the difference for us in the games we lost. Imagine having Will Hernandez instead of Hayden hurst and a line of

Stanley, Hernandez, Skura, Yanda, Orlando Brown Jr

it's decisions like these, much like not picking desmond king who i was pounding thr desk for a few years back...

Definitely would have liked Will Hernandez, but I also liked Hurst (Ridley even more) and Andrews shouldn’t have been there when we picked. Skura needs to be replaced.

Hernandez instead of Lewis wouldn't have made much difference.
What got us going were injuries to Joe, Hurst and Collins. That made a difference of about 200 rushing yards and 20 minutes more of possession per game. Brought D back from lethargy. Boys are having fun now.

Hernandez would’ve helped some but the real issue is having Skura at C and Lewis at LG. You can’t have two guys like that next to each other. I’m a big fan of building a strong interior so I wouldn’t mind getting a strong LG but I prefer a C right now. I think Skura could play LG just fine but we need someone stronger at C. I’m hoping Hurst can play LG if he ever gets healthy

considering he practiced fully and then went out with an illness im speculating but id imagine he was only out last week because he didnt get a full week of practice in

we'll see how he practices this week but id certainly expect him back on the field soon (but id also expect the coaching staff to ease him back in)

moving forwards the value of hernandez would/could have been huge - the reason he gets brought up is because he was who i thought of at the time of the draft with us in that situation as a kind of wish fulfilment pick - he was one of my favourite guys in the draft to watch on tape

Real talk:

If Lamar starts this game and leads us to beat the Chiefs in KC and therefore to a 4-0 record what is everyone’s opinion then? Will we say the Chiefs lost to our defense or make some other excuse? Also if we lose this game will people say he isn’t ready and use it as a reason to show why Flacco should start?

Most people thought this game was a loss WITH Joe Flacco so that’s why I ask this now.

i mean that's a fair question but its a hard one to take seriously until/unless we beat the chiefs lol - with/without lamar im finding it hard to draw a roadmap for us to win this game

I get that with a long term view and I agree he, or someone else, would have been way better value than Hurst in the 1st round.

This season though, we were not going to have much success with him, Ridley, James, etc... because those guys were not addressing our main issue. Only after Harbaugh was forced into changes by injuries, we started looking like a team that has some hope of breaking from mediocrity after several years.
