Next Up: vs. Detroit

My man about to get paid. Hopefully with us
He gets up to double digit sacks on the year, and I think it'll be brutally tough to keep him.
Love him as a player, but like interior Dlineman who can get to the QB make filthy $ in the league today. He'd be on similar trajectory to somebody like Payne or Lawrence. Looking at north of $20M AAV. With at least 50-60% guaranteed.

I don't know if we'll be able to hand out like 4 year, $80M deals this coming offseason. Or at least not without making significant roster cuts to do it. And franchise tag will be right around $21M also, so that's out of the equation.

I would love for this game to be like the Browns where everyone expects the Lions defense to give us trouble only for Lamar and company to slice through it and win big. Hopefully we double team Hutchinson because Stanley won't be able to block him by himself.

If he gets into the double digits from the interior then it would hurt to watch him walk and blossom elsewhere further. Given the issues we have had getting to the QB, this would suck.

There is no way we let him walk without making some sort of push to restructure other deals on the team to keep him.

We lost ZDS and Judon....would hate to lose a guy like this with his potential from that position.

At this rate, we stand to lose our top 2 potentially 3 rushers in free agency

Think it would have less to do with restructuring of other deals, and more to do with cutting or not re-signing other players.
The biggest wildcard for me is whether or not EDC is committed to using void years as a part of his cap structuring in future years. Historically we haven't, and its somewhat logical that the only reason we may have done it this year is due to uncertainty with Lamar.

There are certainly ways to keep him. Just depends on how many other FAs we let walk, and how many other positions we have to fill.

EDC said next year is definitely the year Ojabo and Oweh figure it out so we’re good

This is pretty wild and incredibly painful to watch in real time. It’s partly execution, but this falls heavy on the coaches failing to adjust to the adjustments

This is wild. The eye test tells us the same thing. We just stop trying to move the ball down the field and it feels like we try to run more.

the media calling lions sb contenders so if the ravens win hope they stay on that
Lions are a solid team this year, very much have the “team of destiny” vibe. Goff is having a great year , making good decisions and avoiding the big mistake.

Did we ever get clarity on what Bowser's injury actually was? Maybe I missed it, but stuff like this makes me think something career-ending, or something like "non football related".
Absolutely! Harbaugh said that he'd let Tyus address it because he has some decisions to make.

Have the talent of a good team.
One thing you could argue is their offense is slightly propped up by playing bad defenses. The two best defenses they played, KC and Tampa, they were held to 14 and 20 points.

I think this offense is good, but maybe not quite as good as people think.

I think it's a deeper philosophical problem, personally. There still seems to be this thought that we can just pound the ball on the ground and run the clock when we're up like we used to, but that's not the team we are at this point. We get ultra conservative late and regularly put the offense in 3rd & 7 types of situations because we run the ball on 1st and 2nd down and only grab a yard or two.
