Coaching Carousel 2024

I'm not buying BB to the Eagles or Pokes. Howie Roseman always goes with nobodies he can control and direct from his analytics dept and the personality clash with Jerruh won't work either.
Disagree on Eagles, agree on Cowboys. Bill said in his pressers he was open to giving up the GM component and just coaching. I think he wants to go somewhere with a roster and bring it home. There's very little of that out there.

If LAC wasn’t seemingly so gung ho on Harbaugh, Bill would probably be a great fit for that roster

Jerry is getting pretty old. I can see him being willing to swallow his pride a little if he actually thinks BB can let him ride off with one more championship.

Going to be all up to Harbaugh. Rumors as of a bit ago that he’s talking to Michigan again and trying to work in immunity from being fired by Michigan in relation to the current investigations. Could be using the NFL once again.

will be a bit boring if this is an annual saga, he will, at some point, be in danger of being the boy who cried wolf...

I think he genuinely does want the NFL to some extent, but Michigan is raking in the donor money with him at the helm and are willing to pay him accordingly. The NFL can certainly pay him more, but will any team step up and do it?

would give us another option at defensive coordinator if he does stay in Michigan (Jesse Minter), but would also open up the door for LAC to hire Mac

I may be crazy but I don’t see us going that route unless our internal candidates get cleaned out. We have quality candidates that deserve a shot.

So Nick Sirrani and McCarthy are both going to survive another season or will they be fired later in the week?

Saints moving on from OC Pete Carmichael and other offensive coaches. Yet somehow Dennis Allen hasn't been fired.

Raiders are likely the next team to announce a hiring as it's likely they hire their Interim GM and Interim Head Coach. The Falcons also interviewed Jim Harbaugh.

Both owners are likely taking time to consider all the facts and not making decisions that are the result of pure emotions. I believe both should be out, but they are making sure the decision isn't based on recency and losing a playoff game.

Well a) if they decide to fire them, it'll almost certainly be because they lost a playoff game. That's pretty much the only reason to fire them. McCarthy especially, and b) the longer they wait, the more coaching candidates take interviews elsewhere, and potentially, sign elsewhere, thus reducing the pool of coaches they have to sign.

Good organizations do not fire immediately after a playoff loss. They take all things into account. Otherwise, Harbaugh would be elsewhere long before now. Eagles would have justification for firing Sirianni because it seems like he lost the team by the end of the season, going 1-5 in the last 6 games.

Why would Harbaugh be elsewhere? He's lost like one playoff game he was actually supposed to win since Lamar's rookie year.

What's the difference between firing a coach immediately after a playoff loss and firing them immediately after the season ends? You've already considered it long before the loss if you've arrived at that conclusion. You think the Eagles haven't considered firing Sirianni already? Look at what they did the last two months.
You think Jerry hasn't thought once about firing McCarthy for yet another season of zero playoff wins?

These aren't rash decisions. People didn't just decide these were options on Monday or Tuesday morning. It's been brewing for months or even years (in the Cowboys case).

I learned my lesson long ago. You're right!!! Have a great day!
