Coaching Carousel 2024

I think every GM and Owner should go by Rich Eisen's top 10 coaching candidates.

We at Ravens Nation agree that Mike Macdonald doesn't deserve it yet.

Jerry Jones just wants a Yes Man at Head Coach, not a coach who wants to win a Championship. Mike McCarthy returning to the Cowboys in 2024.

Michael Fabiano is not taking the news well of McCarthy returning to Dallas. I guess it's like us with Greg Roman where we just kept him because he was in the last year of his deal but still bizzare.

It's the problem of replacing a coach that is consistently getting 10+ wins a season, and making the playoffs. He's good enough that it's hard to justify firing him, but it's also hard imagining him winning a super bowl.

It's kinda like Marty Schottenheimer back in the day. The guy would win 13 or 14 gamrs in the regular season, but get bounced from the playoffs by teams that aren't as conservative. You can say he needed to be replaced for the Chargers to actually win in the playoffs, but they haven't done shit since he left. You fire McCarthy and instead of getting knocked out of the playoffs you could only be winning 7 or 8 games a year, and everyone will call it a dumb move to fire a winning coach.

Both owners are likely taking time to consider all the facts and not making decisions that are the result of pure emotions. I believe both should be out, but they are making sure the decision isn't based on recency and losing a playoff game.
imo mccarthy should be out but Sirriani should stay

Cowboys decided to keep McCarthy as of yesterday, per Adam Schefter. Sirriani lost the team at the end of the season, going 1-5 and badly losing a game that they could have and should have won against the Bucs.

didn't some other team commit to their coach and then fire them a few days later? If I was a Cowboys fan, I'd hope that, too. Sirriani, well I say they give him one more year, but that's just my opinion

That may have been the Chargers when they finished 14-2. Then they lost both OC and DC and decided to fire Schotty because it made no sense to give him one more season and then have to replace the coordinators again.

was there not one this season?

What I would do, just like the Ravens did with Billick, I would go up to the leader of the team and ask him how they feel about the coach. I believe I read it in a couple of places that Billick would have been retained, except Lewis told Bisciotti and/or Newsome how they felt about Billick, showing them that he had lost the team.
