Coaching Carousel 2024

Cowboys decided to keep McCarthy as of yesterday, per Adam Schefter. Sirriani lost the team at the end of the season, going 1-5 and badly losing a game that they could have and should have won against the Bucs.
Normally I'm not for firing someone this quickly after a SB appearance, but yeah, it's rare to see a team collapse like that and fully quit on their coaches. There has to be big changes even if he stays HC.

One such change that needs to occur is changing both OC/DC's. I read that Matt Patricia took over defensive playcalling, and he's one of the worst coaches out there.

And their discipline and technique notably got worse the moment he took over the defense.

7 open positions and 3 seem to be clearing up...

Raiders - Antonio Pierce
Chargers - Jim Harbaugh
Falcons - Bill Belichick

Leaves Commanders, Seahawks, Panthers, and Titans

Ben Johnson is the hot name and probably gets one of them. Mike Vrabel also makes a lot of sense somewhere but might be left out on a numbers game.

Obviously not a lock that we keep our guys, but the field is dwindling and there are still some young offensive coaches that are probably higher on the priority list.

Jim Harbaugh has a chance to fuck it all up again but seems the Chargers are willing to pay more than Michigan and bring in the guys he wants, so looking good there.

Fingers crossed but I just keep feeling like McDonald would be a great fit in Seattle. BTW, Philly is still not a lock to keep Siriani.

just hope Monken isn't stupid enough to take the Panthers job.

Dan Quinn seems to be the hot name there. We'll see if that progresses now that Dallas is out.

Sirianni seems to be safe at this point. Reports came out yesterday that he and Howie are identifying candidates for OC and DC there to give it another go. Guess they could always pull the rug out from under him but seems like he's sticking for another year.

We only talk about open NFL jobs. Cant forget about juicy college openings.

Maybe and so they say. But I feel like Seattle wants a cleaner break from Carrol than the NE/BB situation had. Seattle has a lot of the pieces to run McDonald's D, great backers and length at the edges.
Carroll is still employed within the organization. They don't want to break off from him. Not saying Quinn will happen and Macdonald won't of course, but they certainly are still going to carry some of their previous philosophies.

Looks like they’re already doing 2nd interviews in Tennessee and are looking at offensive candidates…

Seahawks you have to hope that with Schneider making the decisions that he’s in on Dan Quinn

Things will be clearer after next week with in-person interviews starting but the hope has to be that a deep run and we keep both our guys for another year

So Bears interviewed USC QB Coach and former Cardinals Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury for their OC position.Take that for what you will in terms of Justin Fields.
