When I hear Monken talk he sounds like a HC to me. When I hear MM talk I hear someone who seems (unsurprisingly) considerably younger and more focused/specialized.
Like I'd describe MM as a bright, young, tactician whereas I'd describe Monken as a wise, but dynamic leader. Monken has seen a lot of football and is not a guy stuck in his ways. I feel like that's pretty much as good as it gets when it comes to running an offense. Monk wanted to do things without the wristband, Lamar tried and didn't like it. What did Monk do? Went back to what makes Lamar comfortable. Lamar has plays he wants to add? Let's throw them in. Lamar says, hey I think I can confuse a defense that's used to looking at a lefty QB by dropping lefty and flipping my hips, you got it! The guy understands personell and the moment he stopped being "cute" and overly forcing Flowers, he went from average/good to great in my books.
