A lot of them are high quality though
Brandon thorn tracks and grades the quality of pressures and sacks and madubuike grades out well - obviously he’s not getting elite edge numbers but he is creating high quality pressures even if a handful of sacks are cleanup

The cleanup sacks are the ones creating the variance between 8 and 13…

he’s not drawing double teams because of the pressure scheme not because other teams don’t think they should

The guys getting 8 sacks are all breaking the bank

I think at that point that he'd command a more reasonable contract than he's about to, but as it stands with the number of holes and the limited cap, I don't see Madibuike being back.

I don't generally use Twitter, so I'm not sure how to find it other than simply scroll through his feed.

I'd be curious to know his methodology and his grading because ESPN has their methodology public and easily accessible and the grades are readily available- as posted above.

That’s fair but at the same time I’ll pay for an anomaly season to get a 8 sack 64 pressure per year DT. Because similar to paying Lamar, the alternative is very ugly.

I should add this- in a vacuum, I'd sign Madibuike back, absolutely.

But it isn't done in a vacuum. Madibuike signing back likely means a very quiet free agency and the loss of a lot of vets. How well will the Ravens absorb lossed like Clowney, Van Noy, Darby, Maulet, Zeitler, Simpson, Queen, Edwards, Dobbins, OBJ, Agholor and potential cuts like Moses? Because those are sacrifices you're making for Madibuike being back.

I don't love the idea of signing a guy to a back-breaking contract when the Ravens are going to bleed so much talent this offseason.

Signing Madibuike means guys like Cleveland and Simpson better step up in a major way or the Madibuike won't be the only one regressing.

On a franchise tag that is absolutely true, but if we are able to extend him on a contract similar in structure to Hargrave's. Not same numbers but. similar structure, then we will be able to bring back some reasonable contracts. We were never going to be active in early free agency anyway. Not with our cap space.

He’s an OL and DL guy by trade - works with OL masterminds

Grades sacks and pressures into different categories based on the film and basically weights higher quality sacks heavier to churn out a number

Nearly Every single guy you named is someone who is out the door in a year or two with or without madubuike and that was always going to be how it worked, and with that the ravens will continue drafting and making depth signings to round out their roster while the star players do the heavy lifting.

Frankly it’s the same as every super bowl caliber team.

In or out of a vacuum I don’t see how you do what’s best for the long term success of the franchise by letting one of the 3 most dominant defenders you’ve had since Suggs leave, and for nothing in return.

pay your stars
build around them

pay madubuike and you have him, roquan and hamilton around as the spine of your defence for the next 3 years (at least), none of them even hit 30 for 4 years...
