End of the Bar Does Not Care, John Harbaugh

If we’re looking for a new HC, we may be on his short list of teams

He's taken such an interesting path toward his HC career, but it seems to be working out for him. It's always a risk to not take a HC job when you have the opportunity, but he was calculated and seemingly will have a choice of some good options instead of just the available options.

Honestly, I could see the Lions' DC, Aaron Glenn, being the better head coach. That defense has been torn apart by injuries to the point even diehard Liona fans don't know who half these guys are. Yet, they're still playing effective, disciplined team defense, and getting the job done.

I'm hoping he doesn't end up the Bengals head coach.

Either trade him to the Bears and offer the same exact trade the Saints got for Sean Payton which would give us the 10th overall pick to go along with the 27th overall pick. Or force him into the front office and go get someone new. 7 years of playoff choke jobs, historic seasons and no Super Bowls to show for it.

Honestly, I don't really blame Harbs for this loss. The turnovers and drops were made by veteran players. I can't blame coaching on amateur mistakes by guys who've been in these playoff games. At some point, these guys have to learn about protecting the ball like that.

Can’t blame coaching at all

Turnovers were nothing to do with coaching

Both 2 point attempts were successful play calls

Harbs used his timeouts well to give us the last chance to tie it (which we should have)

Gameplan was generally effective

We lost ultimately because of 2 plays on offence in crunch time - unfortunately both key plays were by Andrews

Just saying.... Bill Belichick doesn’t have a contract with North Carolina. He hasn't signed a contract yet which is interesting.

I will blame the coaching and play calling. Neither 2pt conversion was a successful play call. That is very obvious.

Running game abandoned too early. Again. Henry underutilised. Again. Running that second 2pt conversion to pass to Mark was a criminally bad call. What was the point? Mark to redeem himself? The first one was pretty mind boggling, too considering our runners just killed the Bills on the entire drive. Why not continue running in the 3rd quarter? Hill was averaging more than 10 yards a pop., Henry got into rhythm, they couldn't stop us to save their lives.

Additionally was there even a single read option called?

I don't know. I didn't like the conversion calls and I thought when they tried to pass a couple times in the 3rd and 4th that they maybe should have been runs. Don't get me wrong, I hate John's surprised look as much as anybody, but I can't really put it on coaching. The players made enough mistakes to take the blame themselves.

i mean im not gonna complain about those playcalls
both playcalls got receivers wide open to score...

I don’t think Harbaugh was a problem. If we should move on from him then it’s because his message is stale. That is a legit reason. If it’s not stale then you keep him.

He isn’t why this team lost. In fact, Harbaugh has been excellent this post season. I do question not running it on that first 2pt even if Likely was open. I think you marched down the field and had your will on them running the ball to abandon it for a 2pt conversion. I think that team was mentally suffering and running the ball would’ve been the right move to break them completely. That said, the play call worked it’s just Milano made a great play.

When they got down there 1st & goal at the 2 yd line they should have hammered henry 4 straight X. Otherwise the game plan was pretty damn solid by both coordinators.

With Harbs going into the final year of his deal…Do you think Stevie B gives him another extension? Or will he play out his final year

I don’t blame Harbaugh for the loss either, but the coaches share the blame, coming out passing from the 1 yard line was inexcusable and that was a back breaker

most owners, and the ravens historically, don't like having coaches going into lame duck years

only way harbs coaches without an extension is if he's retiring after 2025

in all likelihood, an extension has already been done, it just hasnt been reported yet
