End of the Bar Does Not Care, John Harbaugh

So how's everyone feeling about Harbaugh now that we are almost at Thanksgiving, with the division still obtainable even after starting 1-5. I do think now we are definitely keeping Harbaugh for next year as obviously if we win the division after going 1-5, he's definitely back next year. Plus we just gave him a three year extension so I don't think Biscotti is going to get rid of him so quick unless a team offers us two firsts for him. If EDC could invest in the trenches, I do think a lot of the complaints with Harbaugh, Monken and the play calling would solve a lot of our issues we seemingly have.

I'm in the mindset that we'll keep him, but we should at least call around and see if anyone would give up what the Broncos gave up for Sean Payton in terms of picks. Then if someone does give us what the Saints got in return for him, maybe we could go after Jesse Minter or even Klint Kubiak. Kubiak I'm intrigued by just because of what he's done with Darnold and the Seahawks running game, now give him Lamar and Henry? He could probably draw up some great plays and scheme to get guys open taking advantage of teams trying to account for Lamar and Henry.

The game that really cooled his seat was the Vikes game imo. He ran laps around Kevin O'Connel who is unanimously regarded as one of the top young coaches in the game. We were buttoned up and they weren't.

I feel he sucks.

Harbaugh : Never forget what was written in the book of Rossihunter2, Chapter 3, verses 6-10...........

You're 100% correct. its gotten so so soooooo stale......
Dude I was so annoyed with the latest wired episode talking about “I got a birthday gift 5 weeks back before our losing streak, I said I’m gonna open it when we win” first of all that’s fucking stupid for the people trying to celebrate your birthday with you, they got you the gift now fucking see what it is. THEN it turns out it was a coin with a Bible verse on it, and the first quarter of the episode was harbaugh talking about this Bible verse on this coin.

i've stopped watching the wired episodes
they used to be interesting insights on how guys were feeling situationally and a lot more player dialogue

feels like the last few years they've become mostly just slo-mo highlights of the game with music over the top intercut with random sit down interviews with whichever beat guy they spoke to this week

obviously you need the characters to make it interesting - the urban and pierce dynamic was fun the last couple of years but nothing like mark ingram or marcus peters - that 2019 season was the gold standard

even so, if that's really what was going on in the latest episode, i really think that they need to give it up and just do some short mic'd up features

i think it's a good way of describing the decrease in quality of the wired episodes (on an editorial level not on a technical level, they're still awesomely put together) is that you probably hear more from Gerry Sandusky and Rod Woodson than you do from whoever's actually been wired

I like the extended highlight format, but agree it needs far less Gerry Sandusky and rod Woodson, less “beat drops” on slow-mo highlight plays, and more of the mic’d up moments.

I'm so sick of that crap. He's become full blown head chaplain instead of a head football coach.

That man is so full of donkey dung, you can't help but be annoyed! I don't know if he makes shit up so it fits his narrative for the moment or if he speaks the truth. Either way, he is annoying.

You’re not wrong, I felt like he was making all this shit up when I was watching it. Gave me vibes of a middle schooler making up stories to sound cool in front of the high schoolers, except it was about a Bible verse on a coin

idk maybe the college kids are all still evangelicals
but feels like his only way to connect with any of these kids, the only common ground he has with them, is his faith

and i dont think that's enough

that's his whole thing. You noticed he didnt go full-bible mold when they was losing. People would've just rolled their eyes. But now they winning again, he wanna put up the front. You can't hate on a man who's holy.

I personally don't mind someone who is faithful and loves God to promote it. I think it can be a good thing to talk openly about your beliefs. If you believe something, and believe something is The Way, you would naturally do whatever you can to spread such good news. I'm not belittling Christianity or any religion to food; however, if you have a good experience at a restaurant you promote it by "word of mouth".

My issue with Harbaugh and scripture is actually a bit different. Personally, I am a very committed Christian. It just rubs me the wrong way how he references scripture. He talked about in his recent press conference after the win about "Psalm 23" as the verse of the week or whatever. Like, what does a football game have to do with the Word of God? He specifically mentions "...fear no evil" and emphasizes "evil". There is NO evil in a football game except maybe injuries. Praying for no injuries or being thankful for no injuries is great.

The Ravens have been the better coached team during this stretch, that's a fact. Offense has no identity, they are winning with defense and ST (shout out to unit that was down some key guys and played the excellent jets ST to a draw). But the fact that the Ravens pt differential has been so impressive even while winning ugly is a testament to Harbs keeping his team buttoned down. He's made the right critical calls, they've limited the big penalties, no dumb turnovers and honestly played pretty clean football.

I agree with you.

I agree with you.
Yeah I left that as a bit incomplete at the end but that’s because I got busy at work. I think the point was made that it’s coming across as disingenuous. It doesn’t feel real to me when he references scripture in public.

I will agree with the person above that I feel Harbaugh deserves credit for getting this team turned around. He has focused them because they are playing better outside the offense

The Bears went from firing their Head Coach on Black Friday to 9-3 on Black Friday this year. Can't wait for that to be us....

"The Ravens fell to the Bengals on Thanksgiving Night in 2025 dropping them to 6-6 on the year. One year later, under "Insert Genius Offensive Minded Head Coach Here", the Ravens are 10-2 atop the AFC with Lamar Jackson leading the way for his third MVP."
