Free Agency 2019

I'll just go ahead and address the preparedness side of things - he dropped a lot of weight after the injury and never put it back on. This was public knowledge as Harbaugh even said it. However, he didn't handle Harbaugh calling him out well. He was late to meetings, games, and apparently racked up an impressive fine tab.

There's one more incident that I know of that apparently really pissed coaches off, but I don't feel it's my place to publicize that. Feel free to PM if you'd like.

that does make a lot of sense tbh - just really disappointing because he's so talented - was one of my favourite players ever to watch on tape to and evaluate

For people saying the Z finally put it together last season and they're sad to see him go, he had 8.5 sacks last season and 3 came in our blowout against the titans. That means he had 5.5 sacks over the other 15 games. He was definitely a key part of our interior pass rush, but definitely not worth >$10mil/year.

Yeah more than happy with the 2020 3rd rounder we will likely get

Oh, I agree with you wholeheartedly! CJ did well but our safety position hasn't been the same since Ed Reed left. I believe that we do have some young lions on the roster that will see their exodus as their major opportunity to step up. I believe that they are watching the news just like us and I have no doubt that they are probably growing massive chips on their shoulders cause analysts already have the Ravens defense and our whole team laying dead in the water after the defensive shakeup and browns signings.
To be fair, since #20 left, we haven't even tried with FS spot seriously. Draft picks were bad, most guys we brought were SS types, Hill was a long shot to turn it around and K. Lewis, yeah....

he's a player im glad we had, he did things for us, especially in this most recent season, that we didnt get from other players and he created pressure beyond just the sacks he finished (and he did that the last 2 years - he just finished better this year)

ultimately he was a great pick for us - he came in as a 4th rounder, we got 3 seasons where he was productive for us and 1 where he was really productive for us and earned himself a contract that means we flip his 4 into a 2 despite not really ever having any intention of paying him ourselves

he and jensen are great examples of us making the comp pick formula work in our favour

we're currently looking at 11 picks in 2020 and 3 in the 3rd round, 5 in the first 3 rounds and 8 in the first 4 rounds

Agree, but our offense is in fuckin shambles lol

The offense is fine if gets a C and maybe drafts a guard.

The defense is fine if it gets a FS and possibly a ILB.

That's the crazy thing to me about this FA. The team is not that far from being a contender so I don't know why they did not push for paradis and lock up a FS (though they can still do that last one).
