The country has always rallied together around wartime or horrific moments in our history. You are right, Obama’s didn’t have a rally moment.

History's greatest ranked presidents had a war or some form of foreign terrorism to boost ratings. Shoot, even with how controversial the Vietnam War was, Johnson and Kennedy are well liked.

Of course, it isn't a guarantee as I think Bush is viewed unfavorably.

Imagine Kennedy If the press actually mentioned all the affairs he was having in the Whitehouse, instead of squashing them. Clinton would be childs play. What I’m saying is the media makes it impossible for the United States to have presidents like we had years ago. That’s only part of it of course.

I don't understand in the first place why an affair was any business of anyone but Clinton and Lewinksy. It's his bedroom and his personal life. Let him do what he wants.
 
In our local gym that I go to about 3 times in there at the time of the Obama administration there were close to 3 fist fights. It was getting ugly.

No, I'll blame Trump for the white supremecist marches because I didn't see any under Obama or Bush, to my memory, and they cropped up under Trump, so I'm going to blame him. I mean, after all, he did fail to condemn them, so he must really like them.

The same way that not everyone wants police represented by the actions of few, we cannot judge the actions of BLM as a whole based on what people in a city said. I support BLM. Does that make me a bad person or do I hate the police?

Yeah because police have never been controversially let off the hook, largely because of their status as a police officer and the reputation it carries.

And speaking of the police, I would largely put relations between blacks and police as the number one reason for people to pinpoint that as the time that "race relations got worse." Polls showed that race relations were actually trending upward under Obama, until Michael Brown was shot. Really, his ratings took a massive hit and after that point, the amount of police being recorded for shootings has spiked.

Given the increased prevalence of social media. Facebook wasn't even made public until 2006 and Twitter wasn't live until 2006, I believe. You really think that this coupled with more people filming had NOTHING to do with the uptick in race riots? It didn't matter who was president; this is why race relations got worse.

Trump did not fail to condemn the white supremacists. #Fake News. Really you've never heard him condemn white supremacists? He's done it several times. The problem is he also blamed BLM and Antifa like he should have but I guess that upset you since he didn't just blame the racists.

I do blame Obama for the race riots since he judged before he received facts in several incidences involving police but I highly agree with you ( you might want to bookmark that lol ) on social media being a main factor in getting riots organized.

yes blame antifa for peacefully protesting and having a car driven into them... sounds legit to me - it does upset me that he didnt just blame the racists... they're racists... and antifa was peacefully against the racists... and one of them was run over by a racist

with regards to Charlottesville, trump has more often than not, solely mentioned antifa when talking about charlottesville and referred to them as bad dudes - the fact that he equates racists, white supremacists and neo-nazis with those who were there to protest them is awful - especially when it was the white supremacists who were the aggressors and literally killed someone from the other side

because cherry-picking legitimate idiots who happen to blindly follow makes the tax plan good? is that the point people are trying to make?

it also mentions 2/3 of the most minor changes to the plan and neglects to actually mention the plan as a whole or the major elements of it that will affect more people...

those college kids are idiots but their ignorance doesnt mean that trump's tax plan is in any way fair or good...

Cherry picked quotes don't dispute the fact that the tax plan is mediocre as shit. It's literally less popular than the federal bank bailout. The only legislation less popular was the GOP's skinny repeal of ACA. Congrats on defending that shitpile of a bill. Seriously, this tax bill gives tax breaks for jet owners but takes away tax breaks for teachers that buy school supplies. For fuck sake. Fuck the GOP.

He waited for the facts unlike Obama and rightfully so criticized both sides. Trump doesn't say anything cuz he's shamed into it. He also said "there were some fine people on both sides" and yes there were history buffs down there protesting the removal of the statues that were not part of the racists.
