Yes I'm referring to the lobbyists. Sure they're always gonna try to get something in the bill but the House and Senate have been shown to the public whats in the bill. This aint no Nancy Pelosi stuff. What they're doing now is finalizing the small diffrences between the 2 bills and yes it will be available to the public.

Available to the public? The tax bill wasn’t even available to the senators who were supposed to be debating and voting on it until 2 hours before the session... in what way is that fair, transparent or democratic?

Everything trumps government does is insidiously devote itself to the few and not the many...

The Senate receiving the tax bill with changes made to it a couple of hours before the vote is a joke. It is a 479 page tax bill.
The only way to know what is in the bill after the changes is to read it. Why rush? This is important legislation and Senators need to know the details of what they are voting on.

As far as lobbyists, they should not be involved in the process. Aren't you tired of our politicians selling out to special interest groups and putting them ahead of the interests of the American people?

First of all the Dems got the papers on fri morning at 8:30AM and the vote went thru at 2:AM Sat morning so they had it a lot more than 2 hrs guys. Just cuz Tester said 2 hrs it was just out of frustration just not fact. Now if the Dems would have participated instead of acting like petetulant children maybe they might know whats in the damn bill. But no. Now lets go to the good stuff. You got one page (pg 257 ) that was handwritten and also hard to read you gonna tell me they couldn't waddle their ass up there and have it explained to them. No they just wait till after the vote so they could show the public and make excuses. It was also only subtle changes to get a couple more Repubs on board for instance one being more tax relief for small businesses for Steve Daines. You gonna tell me Dems didn't know that. Well they should've. I did.

As for lobbyists they're all over DC. One senator Claire McCaskill who hates Trump btw said a lobbyist handed her the paperwork. That's one senator. I mean one senator out of 48? That doesn't mean lobbyists made changes. Actually this bill is not complete. The House and Senate still have diffrences in each of their legislations and have to come to an agreement and no this has not been rushed but they want it done by Christmas so they can have it set for the new year. There's been plenty of time but the Dems wanted no part of participating this is just their way of "resisting".

Now Rossi this is for you. There was also handwritten changes in Obamacare right before final passage and nobody could even see it. Remember 'We gotta pass the bill before you can see the bill" lol. And oh yes that was the bill that created the nuclear option from your old friend Harry Reid ( remember him ) cuz you guys didn't have enough votes which could withstand a filibuster.

I can tell you right now ABC,CBS,NBC,Twitter,FB and Yahoo all slant to the left. You can also include WaPo and the Balt Sun 2 newspapers that ALWAYS endorse the democrat candidate for any election.

There is no right or wrong it is just how they view things, disagree with it or not. I’m conservative and would have liked this tax reform package to have been better, that’s all I’m saying. the thing that gets me is that there are things in this tax bill that are wilfully exploitative that have no real business being in there: why does this tax bill allow for drilling licences in a protected arctic wildlife preserve, why are taxes being raised on graduate student waivers?

I read the article you referenced and I see the changes that were reported. What I worry about are possible changes that were not reported. That is why more time should be allowed to review that final bill. What harm would have been done if the vote was postponed until Monday ?

Sure it could've been better RM and as Marylanders in a high tax state it does not benefit us on our returns. It just gives us more money in our pockets come paycheck time to invest as we want. I'd advise putting extra in a taxfree Roth so the govt cant get their hands on it but that's me. There's only two conservative outlets on TV that I know of and that's FOX and America 1. You ever wonder why Fox is always rated #1 and by a lot. Its not cuz they're really the best. Its just that they're the only outlet for conservatives. So when you say you listen to all kinds of outlets its all left except for Fox. Now on all these outlets have you ever heard anything good about Trump? See Fox has bashed Trump.

The Dems already knew 99% of the bill which they refused to help negotiate it and they already said no. Not so sure on either of these points. Most of these bills are thousands of pages long and the senators don't actually read them. They rely on a team of people to read it for them and highlight key points.

And this bill doesn't only have to do with taxes. There's probably tons of other small little changes thrown in here and there that have NOTHING to do with taxes.

Small note about the national debt. Due to inflation, the debt is always going to grow exponentially. I promise by the time Trump is done, it'll be higher than when he started by an ungodly amount.

That's just the nature of debt.

Know who actually paid off the national debt? Andrew Jackson. Know what happened literally the very next year? It was threefold what it was before it was paid off.
