To be fair, and this is specifically with regards to Alabama CBs and not relating to Humphrey, but considering that Milliner was drafted 9th and Kirkpatrick 17th, they've been significant disappointments to date. The latter has arguably been no more than slightly above average in his best season, and Milliner flashed some after a turbulent rookie campaign, but he mostly struggled throughout his short career. Jackson's the most successful of them all, and I thought he flipped the switch after 2012; however, he may have had more down seasons than up season to date. They've done much better with their safeties, especially with Collins hounding the SS spot. I'm personally not of the opinion that we should judge players on the recent success or lack thereof of their position peers at their school. But strictly speaking with regards to Alabama CBs, given where they've went, it's difficult to argue that the trio overall has met their expectations. Are you going by what you have seen during games or by breaking down film.

On the topic of Landon Collins, I was so wrong about him.all of this. not to mention HHCD and landon collins, a DPOY contender and a pretty top of the line FS. im not humphreys biggest fan but for people to just write him off is insane, he has an incredibly high ceiling and has some stuff that you simply cant teach and most prospects simply dont have.
i mean really, when is the last time youve seen a cb prospect who can shed blocks and shatter bubble screens into oblivion like he can? who can cover wr's while eliminating any chance of a rb dumpoff on his side? a cb with his mentality and athleticism is a rare find, hes got that antoine winfield/chris mcalister football mentality, where he wants to break someones will on every play and be a man amongst boys, while bringing athleticism that those guys couldnt have dreamed of, track speed that converts on film with great length and strength that he uses well.
Then what are his problems that aren't easy fixed?
And also, maybe we should revisit your Willie Henry prediction, or Demarcus whatever the wr from Florida, or marqise lee.
You and me both. I thought he was bound to be coverage liability and a box safety trough and through. To be fair though college safeties are so damn hard to judgeOn the topic of Landon Collins, I was so wrong about him.
He was my DPOY candidate pick this year because he was otherworldly good at S this year. He proved me so vastly wrong.
Dude you were banking on Henry being our best rookie lol.Henry I always said is a great athlete but not a football player. No guarantee he will translate to a player but if he can he is gonna be a stud of an interior penetrator. Marqise Lee I always really liked. And I believe he will break out this year. He was the jaguars best receiver and maybe best player down the stretch. If the offensive line is competent he should be one of leagues better WRs.
Robinson I like to. Not as much as Malcolm Mitchell but I think he has a lot of potential. And although I like Moore. I woulda preferred drafting Robinson and Mitchell. Especially Mitchell. It's all good fun dude. You are more than welcome to call me out if Marqise is not having a serious breakout. Only obstacle is injuries. and incompetent offensive line resulting in terrible play from his QB. Iwould trade Perriman for him in.06 seconds!! I do like some of Perrimans skills and potential!!

Lee had a solid season, but he was nowhere near their best player. Jalen Ramsey had a far stronger finish given that Lee's production was even throughout the year, and the likes of Malik Jackson, Telvin Smith and Paul Posluszny were well ahead of him. It's difficult to envision Lee toppling the numbers from last season given that they drafted Leonard Fournette; not to mention having to compete for targets with Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. I personally wouldn't even consider trading Perriman for him, but then again, we're both higher on players on the opposite sides, so that goes without saying.Henry I always said is a great athlete but not a football player. Lmao. Kirtzpartick and kareem are trash bro cmon and its not even up for debate. Are you going by what you have seen during games or by breaking down film.

Disappointing, yes. But trash is an overstatement. Each graded out a bit higher than league average last season.Lmao. Kirtzpartick and kareem are trash bro cmon and its not even up for debate.

Based on year one, we wouldn't really be wrong. He put in MAJOR work in the offseason to really improve his game. It was night and day.You and me both. I thought he was bound to be coverage liability and a box safety trough and through. To be fair though college safeties are so damn hard to judge
He's nowhere near the Catcher, route runner, or explosive athlete Beckham is. He's comparable in top speed and that's it.I wanna be wrong about Marqise and Breshad. I like Perrimans potential for 1000 yards and many big plays. But I like Marqise's skillset to be a consistent playmaker. One of those playmakers that can catch 10-12 times and take over games. Especially if he got with a precision QB and offense. I agree drafting Fournette is gonna hurt him. And he plays with 2 really good receivers. But I really think he pulled ahead of Hurns. And will compete with Robinson for NO.1. BTW I forgot about Ramsey down the stretch. But I can't think of anybody outperforming him on offense. Color me crazy but I think Marqise in the right offense could be comparable to Beckham. Maybe part of that is how much I really dislike Beckham.
Carr
Y
Im going off from what i saw. Im just stating the fact that bama is not good at producing good nfl cbs and when i watch humprhey, i see nothing impressive about him.

And I feel perriman is a lot more likely of the 2 to take over games. Lees skillset is too one dimensional tbh, he is like a victor cruz, he relies on speed and route running but doesn't have the savvy or size to beat press and doesn't have the power or aggression to win tight catches.
I liked lee in the draft, fwiw. I thought he had a small skill set but used that skill set very well, he struck me as a Cruz/maclin type of guy who got open with speed and crisp routes but lacked size and physicality to be a #1, and that's basically what he's proven to be, aside from him dropping the ball as well which puts him a tier below the guys I compared him to

Never been so sure about a WR making the jump. We watched 2 different players cuz he is a very savvy route runner. Marqise is one of my favorite players ever coming out. I watched every game. And he made more first down type catches in double and triple coverage using his savvy with his suddenness and physicality. to get open and make the tough catch for a new set of downs. than he did the big wow plays where he looked more explosive than everybody else. Marqise is very strong!!
Perriman is not explosive or sudden in his routes. He may take over games with a couple big plays. But he doesn't have the savvy or suddenness in his routes to catch 12 in a single game. His dad played in the NFL yet his routes were always average at best. He is not in the same league as Marqise as a route runner. I think if you watch more of Marqise you will definitely change your opinion of him being one dimensional. The best comparison for Marqise is Cooper.
Disappointing, yes. But trash is an overstatement. Each graded out a bit higher than league average last season.
as far as coverage skills he doesnt impress me but like i said hopefully he proves me wrong in the nflnothing at all?
i was/am a skeptic but even i see dominant traits in certain aspects of humphrey's game
So what exactly do you consider to be cover skills? Because it's an incredibly vague term. I mean for starters there are 2 main types of coverage, there's man and zone, then there are subcategories, offman, press, tight, off-zone, nickel/slot. There are different traits that determine coverage skills, fluidity, hips, ankles, footwork, explosion, long speed, awareness, instinct, ball tracking, ball skills, body control, the list goes on.as far as coverage skills he doesnt impress me but like i said hopefully he proves me wrong in the nfl
Would entirely disagree with him being a below average coverage safety. I'd argue he's above average.be careful not to overcompensate though - statistically and physically he dominated but he is still a below average coverage safety in the league even though he is dominant at other aspects and especially close to the LoS
