The Refs, the OL, and the Coaching

Stout's 25 yard shank is unforgivable. The weather was nice ,he had time and his only fucking job is to kick.

I can kick it longer than this.

Time to move on from him.
He’s been terrible especially for a 4th round pick. Yea that shank was awful, special teams has not been good for us. I swear I must have watched 20 55 yard field goals go in yesterday , and I saw field flipping punts, but not from us

We all begged for it. We went monken instead.
I feel for Monken though, guy has a difficult challenge in front of him to properly use LJ and maximize his talents while also figuring out how to keep Andrews,Zay,Likely, and Henry happy. I would say Bate but we already know he isn’t happy.

And then on offense:
First we blame cam Cameron, then we blame Jim Caldwell and the OL, then we blame trestman, then we begin blaming Flacco, then we blame Marty, John almost gets fired, we start Lamar, then we blame Roman, many blame Lamar, now we blame monken.

No matter who’s at OC or QB, there’s one constant, we are sloppy and disorganized on game day, and it seems there is never a real gameplan and instead it’s just throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks.
I would add we’ve seemed to have no real identity. Atleast in 2019 with Roman we knew who this team was on offense. Now it feels like our style is “fuck it , let Lamar make stuff happen”.

Lost in all the madness… we’ve got some young guys ascending. Travis Jones had a killer week 1 and they rewarded him with more reps and it was still good. Should be him and Mads in the middle going forward. Oweh is converting pressure to sacks. Ojabo still isn’t there quite yet but the signs are. Simpson is around the ball consistently. If only we could have a similar uptick in quality on the offensive side (sans Likely who has stepped up already)

I'm gonna argue that there's something bigger than Orr being the problem. We've blown more leads than any other team in the last 5 years. 11 times. 7 of which have been by 10 or more points.

Is Orr inexperienced, of course. Is he at fault sure. But like... this has been a Wink... MM and now Orr problem. It could just be all 3 of them have this weird issue but it seems like it's way more fundamental.

Recall Orr is supposedly running the same defense as MM. Maybe some tendencies are shifted and whatnot but it's schematically the same. So if you're seeing similar things happen it's probably because it's a Ravens defense philosophical thing. Idk man but with that being said I was shocked they gave Orr the job and it wasn't Weaver. Idk if that will turn out to be the right or wrong move but made zero sense to me.
They can't seem to finish games.

was so happy with the way Travis, Nnamdi, Oweh, KVN and Ojabo all played - the fact that michael pierce is now a rotational depth piece is amazing

ill have to wait for the all-22 to see what i think about simpson

blew another 7+ point fourth-quarter lead, their 10th in the last four seasons. It’s just crazy Harbs continues to get the benefit of the doubt based on a SB 12 years ago.
Semantics maybe, but I think the 2 score leads statistic is the better argument than a 1 score leads.

Henry was starting to look really good too, again we are seeing glimpses. It’s kind of wild we had two drive killing penalties that for sure cost us the game, we’d be singing a different tune today. Too many penalties

As bad as the DPI and face mask calls were, the hold on Stanley and Henry false start was the difference. The absolute worst timed penalties that just killed two game icing drives most likely. Its infuriating. God damn it Stanley pisses me off so much

SAS said this was Lamar’s fault hahaha

i mean the hold was also bullshit though

I don’t think they trust the OL to hold up long enough to run play action consistently. They can’t completely abandon it but my gut says Lamar is on the ground more if they were to increase it heavily.

but playaction actually helps out your OL with pass pro - that's why it's been so successful for us

The defense is the least of my concerns right now. New DC and some new moving parts on the defense.

My issue is the decision making on offense and the terrible time outs. I am sick and tired of hearing a bible verse after losing a game we should have won.

I am sick and tired of the HC looking like a fucking bozo at the presser when asked questions about the run game.

Henry is running the ball well, huge drive in the second half.

3 and 1. What do we do?

We have the greatest runner of the football at the QB position ever and easily the one of the greatest running backs of all time in the backfield

What do we do?

Run our 3rd string TE on a bullshit tush push which lead to a penalty of course because Henry jumped.

You know how Henry doesn't jump? Just hand him the fucking ball and let him get us that fucking yard.
