The Lamar, The Receivers, and The Pass Defence

Lamar looked awesome again, had a pick but that's on Andrews. Only 1 TD belies just how good he was. He's now 22-1 vs the NFC.

The receivers were unguardable. Zay set records, Andrews set records, Henry keeps scoring TDs, Bate was separating like crazy. So nice to see this level of separation from the receiving corps when the running game wasn't going crazy.

The communication on the backend still looks poor. Too often guys seem like they're scrambling to get the right calls. The safety position still needs some figuring out. The day would have looked much better though if Ar'Darius caught the freebie INT. Can't fault Stephens on the McLaurin TD but I think the coaches film isn't going to be kind to Nate Wiggins (and maybe Marcus Williams too) on Monday.

Despite that, was nice to have the defence play in a way that did put the rookie in hell (even though Daniels, generally, did OK). Nice to hold that Commanders offence to only 52 yards of rushing offence.

What a great luxury to have Derrick Henry have a "quiet" day and still go for 132 yds and 2 TDs. What a great closing weapon.

Lamar continues to get no calls from the refs. No hip-drop, no out of bounds hit.

4 and what and we allowed td’s.

This shit secondary is going to catch up to us ultimately , like in the playoffs .

Lamar is the best player and QB in 2024 and it is not close
I cant explain for 28 teams why they have such bad QB play. Basically only Stroud and Lamar have looked great this year (possibly Burrow but their defense is so bad its hard to even make sense of them) with some other players like Goff, Daniels, Purdy, Darnold, Stafford, and Purdy, all looking decent but inconsistent.

I understand why the Bills and Chiefs look off because they have the worst offensive casts in the NFL (seriously if JuJu is your leading WR in a game in 2024 you have big problems) but the rest of the NFL does not have that excuse. The Eagles have a great OLine and great weapons, the Rams have fantastic weapons, the Lions have great everything, the Packers have a lot of great weapons, among others. But somehow these teams just look very sloppy on offense.

You're exactly right the only other person to praise is Stroud. And even there, it ain't close.

The NFL has an almost entirely flat talent landscape. It makes every week fun. I actually really like it. If only the refs would stop gifting the Chiefs wins

This offense is humming now. Lamar is super efficient and we can beat you on the ground or through the air.

Defense is still leaky but it felt like a step up today at least. We really need to figure out how to defend the pass in the middle of the field, because that's where we get bet most when not blowing a coverage. I'll take improvement. Jayden Daniels is super impressive though.
