The Lamar, the Receivers, and the Pass Defence

It was great to see Andrews and Bateman show up in the second half. Offense looks as good or even better than last season. Only complaint is that Orr looks like he should be sent to call plays at Michigan. This team can definitely win a super bowl if our defense starts playing up to it's talent level

Jayden Daniels is one of the most poised rookie qbs I've ever seen. He's gonna be the stuff of nightmares for the NFC East.

The defense did seem to improve, though there's still issues. Next week will be another tough test for Orr when we go against the Buccs.

This offense is humming now. Lamar is super efficient and we can beat you on the ground or through the air.

Defense is still leaky but it felt like a step up today at least. We really need to figure out how to defend the pass in the middle of the field, because that's where we get bet most when not blowing a coverage. I'll take improvement. Jayden Daniels is super impressive though.
Orr needs to stop blitzing so heavy on money downs, and he needs to rotate coverages when calling a 5 man rush, blitz roquan and do nothing for the middle of the field, constantly. Its beyond rookie play caller mistakes, because even a fan knows you can’t do that, your blitz isn’t getting anywhere when you give them easy outlets.

And beyond that, Ro needs to figure it the fuck out, he’s got the kinda contract that demands production and he is getting absolutely roasted through the air.

I think the Bucs are going to he very hard for us. I don't see us stopping Evans and Godwin. Going to again force Lamar to score 30+ to win

100%

I do think his all out blitz on the 4th down that drew PI on Wiggins was not a great choice…
I’ve been reluctantly okay with letting Orr grow but that one showed such poor and reckless judgement, you simply can’t do that in the nfl, and you shouldn’t need to experience that result to know better, you should already know better.

Just a desperate playcall that shouldn’t have happened. Rush 5, rotate the appropriate coverage to take away the easy outlets, and disguise that 5th rusher. It’s easier to form a wall at the snap than it is for 5 guys to diagnose which extra rusher is coming and how to compensate for it. It’s easier for qbs to just get rid of it against nobody than it is for them to decipher the coverage post snap while figuring out where the extra rusher is coming from.

Just really really bad.

You're exactly right the only other person to praise is Stroud. And even there, it ain't close.

The NFL has an almost entirely flat talent landscape. It makes every week fun. I actually really like it. If only the refs would stop gifting the Chiefs wins
Holy shit, the refs just called a DPI to set up the Chiefs go ahead score on their bye. This is getting ridiculous.

The ugly: the negativity in the game thread

Wtf is wrong if you cannot enjoy watching this team right now? 4 straight wins, an offense shredding everyone.
And this place is full of "fire everyone". Do the ravens have to win 40-0 every week for this to be fun?

It feels weird to say it again this year, but it seems we again have the best version of Lamar we've ever seen, notably as a passer. Continually showing that he's getting better and better year after year. If he can ever dial in some of the bombs, good luck rest of the NFL.

On the topic of Daniels- I do find it amusing that people are acting like he's having this never before seen, unprecedented rookie quarterback season when we had Herbert a few years ago and we had CJ Stroud last year.

Yes, I think Daniels is playing at a high level that wasn't totally expected, but he's not the most impressive rookie quarterback we've seen.

On a Ravens note- I was having a discussion with someone literally right before the game about how the Ravens would be wise to start using Bateman almost exclusively over the middle.

That definitely worked out this week.

Travis Jones once again a monster.
Nice to see Jacson looking at Bateman more than once
Felt he had decent time to throw, perhaps the line is starting to get it together?
Hamilton's hit reminded me of Deshon Elliot destroying receivers

I'd prefer the opposing team scores negative points, but I could settle for 40-0.
