Brady gets his revenge for those Super Bowl losses. Pierce fired by the Raiders.
I still can't believe we lost to themWell guess he wasn't safe after all.
Still think this one is a mistake. Hired him knowing he was on a learning curve with a bad roster. Team believed in Pierce and played hard, but Mark Davis was kidding himself if he expected better results with the lack of talent on that team.
are you friggin kidding me. He only had the 3rd most efficient offense of all time behiind the 2000 and 1954 Rams. At 6.8+ yards per play.Monken doesn’t feel like a big loss if he left…… anyone else feel the same ?
Them and the Browns. I can live with the rest.I still can't believe we lost to them
Yeah so this was the textbook definition of a "DEI hire". That guy wasn't in the stratosphere of qualified to being a HC. Was an interim coach that Mark decided to keep for another year because he's still paying out huge cash outlays to the last two coaches he had to fire, and knew he could get this guy for as cheap as possible.Well guess he wasn't safe after all.

Lamar is so talented I really don’t think the OC change hurts him much. Pain to possibly learn some new concepts but at this point in his career OCs adjust to Lamar’s strengths anywaysyou alone on this
I just think it’s more about Lamar than anything coaching. Something like 80/20… I have no doubts a decently experienced OC could replicate this season simply based on our talent between Lamar, Henry, Zay, and Andrewsare you friggin kidding me. Lamar with Greg Roman wasn't anywhere near this. Was he good yeah and he still won the MVP, but the growth we have seen from him since Monken came in the league. He's arguably the best qb in the league and he does so much more under Monken. Don't underestimate what Monken has done for Lamar.I just think it’s more about Lamar than anything coaching. I don’t want Monken to leave but Lamar broke records with Roman, broke records with Monken, and my money is on him breaking records with whomever might come next.Lamar with Greg Roman wasn't anywhere near this. Tee Martin would most likely be inline to replace him or it's quite possible we lose Martin if Monken stays in Baltimore because he is currently on Macdonald's list for OC in Seattle.
yes, but he didn't break passing records with roman and his scheme was definitely holdiing him back.I don’t want Monken to leave but Lamar broke records with Roman, broke records with Monken, and my money is on him breaking records with whomever might come next.

Of course the roster sucked. Everybody saw that. And as soon as the roster got better, they were going to fire Pierce anyway and put a real HC in there. This just expedites things.
Most of them don't have a choice. If Antonio Pierce never got offered a HC job, or even a coordinator job, in the NFL again, it wouldn't surprise anybody. There are some coaches who have the luxury of being "picky", and some that don't. Ben Johnson probably does (though I don't think he has the luxury of waiting forever). Wink Martindale was a HC candidate with multiple interviews, what, like 3 years ago? Not sure he could get a DC job in the NFL today. The last part is exactly why I didn't think he was getting fired... yet lol
These coaches need to stop taking these obvious stopgap jobs. We all know for the most part they're not going to keep you when they get "their guy."
There is a balance that Monken has brought to the offense. While Greg Roman posted great running numbers, it was at the expense of being one dimensional in big games. Remember how many times the Ravens had 2-3 receivers running routes in the same area?I don’t want Monken to leave but Lamar broke records with Roman, broke records with Monken, and my money is on him breaking records with whomever might come next.
some coaches are better as "linebacker coaches" then they are as head coaches and I think Pierce is one of them. The Raiders have a lot of work to do and Mark Davis needs to understand that. They can't keep firing coaches every one or two years. Most of them don't have a choice. Pierce also isn't your typical "hire". He inherited a dumpster fire as an interim coach and miraculously sold the idea that he was a good HC to a dumbass owner because "people wanted to play for me more than they did McDaniels", which isn't a shock, because nobody ever wants to play for McDaniels. And then within about a month of this season it was clear that Pierce doesn't understand clock/game management, isn't good at picking his coaching staff or managing them, and has no real pathway to getting his players to play better. He was basically Matt Eberflus, without actually being "hired" for the job.
Hell yea atleast 1 more year.. if we dont win it this year and he leaves, gonna set us back atleast another yearI'd want to keep him at least 1 more year. He's in sync w/Lamar
Naw bro, we need monken. Offense looks comfortable af.. got 2-3 players often wide ass open to the point where anyone of them would go for a big gain.I just think it’s more about Lamar than anything coaching. That's not a question for me. That's a question for Davis. I'm not the one who opted to promote like the 6th most qualified person on my staff to HC after firing somebody else. But it'd be impossible to argue that public relations wasn't a key part of it. Especially for an Owner who has less than stellar race relations in their past.Ok yeah, he was a bridge guy on the cheap that at least the locker room liked. Don't understand why you gotta go there with the DEI crap.
