Season Review and Offseason Thread

Grim

Ravens Ring of Honor
I don't want to get into a deep discussion, but this thread should shed light on why women are hard pressed to want to come forward. So many people who seem to be fully on the couldn't be Tucker train because he's good at football and it'd be beneficial if he's on the team and innocent than the other opposite.

But I will also say- in the case of Deshaun Watson, those women received death threats. I don't think anyone here is THAT unhinged, but people are with these celebrities.

Why wouldn't the stores come forward? I'd imagine coming forward would absolutely wreck their reputation and their business.

I don't have any actual insight into the case, but we have at least nine women who have come forward, people who have shared this being an issue YEARS ago, and a member on the board who was pointing toward substantial issues with Tucker all year.

It's really not looking good.
I’m not following you so want to clarify but are you using posts in this thread to drive a narrative that most people here in this thread are either defending Tucker or turning it around on these women?

I don’t think I’ve seen a lot of people doing that unless I missed it. I think generally I’ve seen a few types of comments

1. This guy is a piece of shit and get him off my team
2. Let’s see where this leads
3. I don’t care and I doubt the NFL does either
4. Why wait so long? Must be a lie

I don’t think there’s an overwhelming amount in any category but I think most people are repulsed by this and want him gone. Some are in potential denial, I’ll agree, but some also want to wait and see.

Seems like he was highly sought after. It’s cool that we went outside of Harbaugh’s circle.

he's been hiring outside his circle for a while recently tbf

only taggart has really been a harbs circle hire of the current staff

outside of pagano and pees obviously

tee martin, Dubb (who left), chuck smith, greg lewis and a bunch of the other guys have come from loads of different sources

This is becoming a Reddit wet dream now. Apparently this was common knowledge now too? I’m starting not to believe any of this

9th grade majority white high schools, you wouldn’t believe how common this kinda shit is, or at least how common it was back then. If he was class of 2008, then 9th grade was 04/05, in a majority white community with white conservative parents, you really don’t know a goddamn thing except what you’ve been indoctrinated by.

Not excusing it, just saying in those days it was extremely prevalent and basically that’s a “product of your environment” type of deal, the world was more closed off and there was less cultural exposure which makes a world of difference for sheltered kids.

Going to college and mixing in with people from all walks of life absolutely changes people who were brought up this way.

Yeah it's disappointing behavior. He'll see no real legal justice brought against him, but he likely gets cut post June id expect.
he has no guaranteed money left in his contract and we would only lose $445k if he were cut before June 1.

we haven't really stayed within Harbaugh's circle when going into the college ranks, especially on offense. He's been pretty good hiring coaches on both sides of the ball, atleast recently.

Todd Monken
Tee Martin
Keith Williams (pass game specialist and no longer on team)

For sure. Is this behavior unambiguously wrong? Yes. Did this shit happen all the time back in the day? Yes. Are we a lot better as a society today compared to then? Yes. Do people quickly forget context and retrojudge the past with modern day understanding of morality? Yes.

These are challenging subjects and often painful to look back on when they arise. I just appreciate that while you acknowledge that's wrong, you understood the nuance of the time and culture. This has nothing to do with Justin Tucker. Ive just for years been upset with people trying to cancel others for mistakes made in their youth. Theres truly nothing better in the world than someone making a mistake, learning from it and growing into a better adult. If you don't give people even that amount of leash, the expectation is they come out and are perfect, fully realized mature adults from the beginning. And that's just a stupid thought.

Don't know if you're familiar with Plato, but this concept has been understood for thousands and thousands of years. Only recently have people begun to forget.

I don’t say it to excuse it, but 9th grade immaturity is exactly that. I went to a school that was probably 50/50 and we still had the same thing happening day in and day out. And the kids saying it are far from racist. Just immature little fucks that eventually grew up.

I think there's a joke about opera and Mozart's "the magic flute" in this, but we are obviously far too mature around here for such puns...
