2025 Offseason Thread

I don't want to get into a deep discussion, but this thread should shed light on why women are hard pressed to want to come forward. So many people who seem to be fully on the couldn't be Tucker train because he's good at football and it'd be beneficial if he's on the team and innocent than the other opposite.

But I will also say- in the case of Deshaun Watson, those women received death threats. I don't think anyone here is THAT unhinged, but people are with these celebrities.

Why wouldn't the stores come forward? I'd imagine coming forward would absolutely wreck their reputation and their business.

I don't have any actual insight into the case, but we have at least nine women who have come forward, people who have shared this being an issue YEARS ago, and a member on the board who was pointing toward substantial issues with Tucker all year.

It's really not looking good.
Yeah I'm not really seeing barely any of the "he must be innocent" crowd. You're going to need to point those users out individually, because I'm not seeing anything like that.

I think there's plenty of people, like me, who think adjudicating this process is wildly, wildly, wildly outside the scope of what a business like the NFL should be doing.

As for what the "victims" should have done, I could argue both sides for days. I think if you have specific women who refuse to come forward for years and years, there's really not a whole lot of other "solutions" to the problem. Same can be said for rapists, pedophiles, etc. Everybody just expects that there's going to be some sort of action from anybody other than the rapist and the victim that is going to help reduce the frequency of these issues, but historically, that's just never the case.

I have zero idea why the business wouldn't come forward. And they don't even need to do it publicly either. A simple phone call from business management to the police would at least act as some sort of deterrent. That information never needs to be made public.

Follow Lamar to the cowboys because fuck any team that would do that

trade Lamar and start the starched4Arch campaign

Man i swear lmao.. those were really the best times ever for gaming lmao. The funniest people were actually the ones making racist comments tbh lol. Now u get banned for saying “ fuck”
Yep, Halo and Gears of War too. The F and N words were used as synonyms for stupid and idiot, no one actually used them with their original meanings.

For sure. Is this behavior unambiguously wrong? Yes. Did this shit happen all the time back in the day? Yes. Are we a lot better as a society today compared to then? Yes. Do people quickly forget context and retrojudge the past with modern day understanding of morality? Yes.

These are challenging subjects and often painful to look back on when they arise. I just appreciate that while you acknowledge that's wrong, you understood the nuance of the time and culture. This has nothing to do with Justin Tucker. Ive just for years been upset with people trying to cancel others for mistakes made in their youth. Theres truly nothing better in the world than someone making a mistake, learning from it and growing into a better adult. If you don't give people even that amount of leash, the expectation is they come out and are perfect, fully realized mature adults from the beginning. And that's just a stupid thought.

Don't know if you're familiar with Plato, but this concept has been understood for thousands and thousands of years. Only recently have people begun to forget.
I don't think that post has anything to do with cancelling Tucker for the 'mistakes' of his youth. It's just pointing out that it seems like he's always been an asshole.

That's why I said my point has nothing to do with Justin Tucker. And also if we want to make it about him, that immature behavior as a kid may or may not imply he's always been a douche.

The thing that I find crazy is he's always seemed like an authentically good guy on camera. So...

1) he is a good guy and there's a bunch of BS going around (seems extremely unlikely)
2) he's always been a douche and was just so good at what he learned in media training
3) he was probably a fine guy that let his fame get to his head and started to act like a degenerate as an adult.

Sad part is none of those are good options

The whole thing's a hoax because of something something Reddit?

That's strong argument you've got there.

Having said that - Fuck Ravens Reddit. They were all over the "trade Lamar and start Huntley" business and hated anyone who wanted to pay our QB.
Inverse Reddit seems to be a high batting average no offense. The way the original whistleblower is conducting herself seems off to me. You’d think they be keeping on the down low not going around bragging, calling him names, shaming and making demands of the organization. And again her screenshots and her story don’t align in terms of dates

All kids are immature and stupid at times but, if that post about young Tucker is true, he was immature and an asshole. We don't need to condemn people for that but, if they don't do some reflection and growing, asshole kids will grow up to be asshole adults. Based on the accusations, Tucker remained an asshole as an adult, so the chances are that 2 is the correct answer. It might not be media training, a lot of assholes are good at masking their true selves.

Being an asshole is probably a good thing for kickers, who need unshakable self confidence, and who is troubled by less self-doubt than assholes?
With that comes the viciious circle that the supremely self confident are less likely to examine themselves critically which is necessary for the growth that could turn the asshole kid into a good person.

The only thing that gives me pause is that he seems to be friends with Brent Urban and if Urban isn't a good guy, who can we believe in?

People want internet fame these days. ( Though I don't think we can decide who is a victim based on their behaviour anyway).

The original poster was a friend of a victim who posted after Tucker's last extension and it all sank without trace and no one noticed until the Banner journalist heard a rumor, did some searches to investigate, found the old tweets and contacted her. That all seems to add up.

also it's not like he was a teenager when this shit was happening... he was in his mid 20s
