That dude is right. Coverage will have to be tighter and our front will have to play pressure, forgetting about all-out blitzes all the time. Lot of attention on Ingram and Kamara, too. Should be pretty awesome game to watch.

idk - we change the way we play depending on the qb - we had a very different gameplan vs big ben that didnt lead to sacks but did lead to us getting consistently off the field and stifling their air attack...

Also worth mentioning that Wink has made the necessary in-game adjustments when something isn't working well. I'm really excited to see what he comes up with for this game and to see the chess match between both teams.

I was going to say. Martindale is good at adapting the game plan. And we kind of have the personnel to do that. Kollman is correct about one thing: we don’t have a bonafide super stud akin to an Aaron Donald. But we have a lot of guys who are good pass rushers.

The secondary will win or lose this game for us. Our corners match up very well against that WR corps. We need to figure out how to contain Kamara. We aren’t going to stop New Orleans but if we can put the hurting on the rushing attack early around they’re going to have a tougher time than their fans anticipate.

Key gameplay: keep Carr off the field because Brees is the QB that will absolutely shred him. Keep Marlon and Jimmy on the field and we HAVE to give Tavon lots of help when Thomas is in the slot as he plays there a lot. And please God have TJ or Kenny or someone shadow Kamara.

Speaking of Humphrey he was listed as limited with a thigh injury. Hopefully it is not serious because we need him.

Drew Brees is a great QB, no doubt, but this game is more about the chess match between Sean Payton and Wink. Payton and Brees have been together for 12 years and operate like a well oiled machine when all the parts are clicking. It’s up to Martindale to find a way to disrupt that flow and force them out of their rhythm. It’s worth repeating that the Saints have had an extra week of planning, so all considered it would seem the Ravens will need to score a bunch to win. You never know though, other than the first half of the Cinci game and a couple hiccups here and there Wink and the defense have been formidable. This game could define the season.

Tbh I’m more worried about WRs vs carr than QBs. Carr is a pretty solid corner who gets burned by freak athlete WRs and real explosive guys. For instance if Michael Thomas ended up across from Carr I wouldn’t worry too much, I worry much more about Thomas vs a guy like Tavon due to his size and great physical catching style

The first quarter of the Cincy Game had a blocked punt, a blocked FG, and Mosely went down. I am throwing that quarter away for the defense, as I put that on Special Teams and a bad timing injury. I believe they will be up to the task this Sunday. Even they seem to be accepting the challenge to each other, with their statement, "we will see what we are made of." Brees will have his hands full.

You kinda confused me with this post. Carr gets burned by freakish athletes so you want him on Thomas vs. Tavon who is small and won't be effective against him? Did you mean to say Carr holds up better than Tavon against Thomas... can you clarify what your point is?

Thomas isn’t a freak athlete, which is why I stated that I’m not worried about Carr vs Thomas, and I am worried about Tavon vs Thomas because Tavon struggles with size.

I did say Carr holds up better vs Thomas, I think you misread that

And THAT'S the issue right there!

That information can't be so easily overlooked or dismissed. I once saw a piece on Sean and Drew's relationship and Sean "asked" Drew which plays did "He like" to scheme for their upcoming opponents and their tendencies. He gave Drew free reign to pick the formations and plays that would work against their opponents. That QB has incredible liberty!

Drew's release is a lot quicker than Mariota and he has more offensive weapons than the Titans. Last week was an anomaly for our defense! Great....but an anomaly! If the Ravens offense and Joe Flacco aren't able to move the chains effectively to keep Drew on the sidelines and then to finish off their drives with TD's to put up enough points to avoid trying to be in a shootout with Drew and his offense and, if the defense isn't able to sack Drew or get into his face enough to disrupt him then I expect it to be a loooooooooong day for the Ravens! Here's to hoping that I am extremely wrong!

GO RAVENS!!!

Carr has done really well this year and has been our best CB. He's only allowed one TD this season and has lined up against plenty of dynamic receivers. Everyone has an freak athlete at the reciever position, the Saints having White or anyone else who can fly by a WR is nothing new, Carr has balled out this season and deserves his due for it. Sometimes I think he's one of those guys who get too much flack. He's having the best year of his career so far.

I don't see him as a problem this year, as Joey said I think Thomas in the slot is bigger problem since he can really body Young down there.

Mili, lemme holla at you for a moment. Bruuuhhh, you're acting like this entire team doesn't know this lol. Of cooouurse, our defensive performance last week was an anomoly. Nobody expected that to happen and nobody should expect the same against the Saints either. The "beauty" of the NFL is that it's treated on a week-by-week basis. One week, we can't convert on 3rd downs. Another week, we're money on 3rd downs. I PERSONALLY expect a close loss to happen, but hey, I could be proven wrong. As much as I don't want to lose, I'd rather lose to NFC teams because they don't count when it comes to potential tiebreakers.
