The Good, the Bad, and The Wind

I wasn't on it that quickly but I honestly said to my wife, "These announcers are going to jinx Tucker into missing this..."
They also kept doing it to Butker in the KC game. “Butker hasn’t missed a field goal all year, he’s been perfect.” And he immediately misses one lol just shut up until after the kick I swear

Patrick Peterson has requested a trade.

Yeah. I don't think it's going to happen but I really wouldn't complain. Let's keep poaching from the cardinals.

I’m not feelin giving a 1st round pick for PP because I know that’s what they’ll ask for lol.

I really don’t think we need another corner. Even if Jimmy won’t be as good as in the past (I’m still giving him more time before we count him out) he can still cover the #2 if Marlon is on the top guy. Thats still an elite secondary sorry

I would never complain about adding an elite player. But you're right hence me not pounding my fist on the table.

If they want to give us Chandler Jones though I'd like that

Holy shit I’d die to have Chandler Jones on our team. Now that’s a different story

Yeah the OL hasn’t been stellar at run blocking but as you said they’ve been very effective in pass pro. I think our run woes are evident but that’s not why we are losing games. We are still very competitive even when teams know we want to throw so that speaks a lot about the team. We could use better run blocking though for sure.

There are plenty of reasons why we're losing games but the lack of a run game is playing a big factor right now and when you want to protect a 7-17 lead and keep Brees off the field then you need a run game. As BMoreBird pointed out we had 3 drives that lasted a minute. It's hard to protect a lead when you're getting off the field that quickly and if you can't run the ball then you're going to have issues with sustaining drives. The run game is a big problem that needs to be turned around quickly.

If he requests a trade, you do send a first round pick over. Him and Suggs next to each other. They can have Matt Judon(We cool Harbaugh, don't kill me) and a first rounder.

Let's hope he requests a trade.

I remember Reddit and I even went back and looked at the thread from last year. You were like one of three people to initially post an overreaction to Carr saying he should be benched (This was an overreaction more so based on who would actually play? The Ravens were dangerously thin with no Canady and no Young) (I think Lost might have been the only one I saw that said to cut Carr and you know how he is), and then several people, like Rosi and myself, asked if anyone was actually surprised that Carr got beat by the best corner in the NFL and the answer was "no."

Whether Pees deserved the criticism or not is irrelevant to what I'm saying; the point I'm making is that people were more upset with Pees leaving Carr on Brown when Humphrey was having himself a stellar night. That was the much bigger story line rather than Carr getting beat by Brown. No one was surprised it was going to happen to the point that people didn't understand why he was left on Brown.
I did overreact and I own up to that, but I keep that same type of energy for any player who preforms that bad. Point is, Jimmy doesn't get a pass from me if we don't have that type of accountability for anyone else. I personally liked the decision to keep Carr, but plenty of people were pissed after we decided to keep him even though he contributed to our defense being held together. You can look at the previous threads if you want, but any time we go up against a team with an athletic WR, people assume that means Carr is going to get burned by said player. I mean I recall people saying that he could get burned by John Ross of all people and he turned out to be a stud that day against Cincinatti. I think this still has to do with his game against AB dating back to last year. Let's be real here, people still have that game on their mind time to time and just expect Carr to get burned.

I’d ageee the difficulty running the game is a problem but drops, and more importantly offensive play calls, have been the biggest issue.

Crabtree has played awesome the last two games i don’t even recall a drop in those last two. I love it

It's mainly situational play calls that Marty struggles with. There are so many great designs. But some his 3rd down calls are awful. Yesterday early 4th quarter 3rd down: Saints play 2 high safeties in nickel, 3 routes and all 3 of them are towards the sidelines, results in a sack. No route to splitt the safeties.

Middle of the field was WIDE open

It always is with the Saints. If it isn't, it doesn't really matter, their linebackers can't cover for shit.
While this is a reflection on Flacco, his history with TEs doesn't really make me buy it too much... So I say again... If only we drafted two rookie TEs with talent early on.

To your point, I feel like Marty tries to get too smart sometimes. 2nd and 1 with two attempts, I would've liked to see a QB sneak. I don't think I've seen a play where a QB sneak hasn't worked for us. Joe is probably the best QB in the league in terms of QB sneak conversions and they can be unstoppable when you only need a yard, I don't know why even on 3rd down we didn't go that route.

I rather make a trade for David Johnson than PP. He would take our team over the top

I know that there is nothing to hang our heads about, as we actually played decent considering the Saints this year look like one of the elite teams. With that said, yes our playoff hopes are still alive and well, but it is games like yesterday and that Browns game that will make a huge difference for the playoffs. That game may be the difference between a wildcard or winning the division, a home playoff game or an away playoff game, or a needed bye week. That stuff really matters when playing a hard fought playoff game against the better teams and helps get you to the ultimate goal - a Super Bowl. It is a damn shame, because that game yesterday probably really mattered.
