Very crazy! I use to live out near Oaktown when I was a kid way back in the day and I absolutely loved the Raiders. I still have a special place in my heart for the Silver and Black.
I remember seeing stories of the Raiders being compared to the Bad Boy Pistons. God rest his soul, but I'm sure a lot of it had to do with Al Davis.

Loved the Raiders as a kid and Kenny Stabler was my childhood idol.

I expect a blowout tomorrow night. Talking about extending harbaugh has me realizing this IS the same old ravens and we are gonna end this season in same old ravens fashion.

Tongue in cheek statement, I don’t think that has anything to do with it, but short week vs long week, west coast trip, one dimensional offense with a defense that blows it in big moments, vs the most complete team in the league, against a qb who has historically lit us up every time we face him.. I usually have an optimistic feeling when we’re facing one of these top teams and we’re playing kinda hot, but a complete chargers team led by Philip Rivers sounds like our nightmare.

Phillip is the only qb who scares me now that Peyton is retired. That bastard always gives us trouble.

I liked The Snake also. Glad I lived during a time when I can say I saw Stabler Tarkenton Len Dawson and Johnny U play, especially Ronnie Lott. I always wanted to hit like Ronnie Lott!

I know what you mean. I actually saw us winning against the Chiefs in a close game and losing to the Chargers in a close game, only because we are on a short week where they had a nice long rest. Hopefully we squeak out a close one somehow. I feel a loss today will end our playoff hopes. I just want to make the playoffs with Lamar this year.

If we build a truley elite O line ( we need to invest in the middle of the line )

I won't be worried about the long term at all.

Yeah I agree with you. To be honest I thought that was an incredibly stupid video because it's whole assumption was that the ravens will continuously use this scheme and if someone figures out how to actually stop it (meaning the defense makes adjustments) that the ravens will mindlessly continue to use it and make no adjustments themselves. I understand at the end he says Lamar is going to have to use his arm, and that is true, but he's already begun to show that he can. And as the offense features more of that, no defense will be able to stop the shear number of possibilities we can throw at them. That's just on Lamar's progression into becoming an NFL quarterback. If he can't do it tonight, that doesn't mean that the system is ruined, it means he and his oc need to get better. I'm certain that will come with time. I predict a close ravens win.

Sometimes, that "long rest" thing can work against a team. Hopefully, the Ravens can snatch this "W" and then get the hell out of L.A. quick, fast and in a hurry! Lol...

yeah...I've got this horrid feeling that our season ends tonight and in really crappy fashion and with harbaugh getting his way again it'll be another wammy.

We are entering a marvin lewis situation here.

The Snake was cool, but him and Dave Casper ended the Colts season in the second OT period(AFCCG) on Christmas Eve 1977. I was at that game as a wee lad, not a very merry Christmas that year. lol

It was crazy watching Tarkenton’s scrambles, he was a hard dude to catch!

Yeah, that is a good thought, because that can happen. I am just excited to see Lamar play. It seems that he is enjoying himself out there. I don't feel like this game is too big for him. I do feel like we have a fighting chance tonight. I am old school. I like smash mouth football, so I am just enjoying this offense right now.

Yes - it can happen that a team comes out a little flat to start a game after rest. Its the end of the game where the difference is made and given Chargers recent knack for come from behind wins and our inability to stop a final drive in games where the season is on the line (in the KC game this year and games in past years) the extra rest is scary. No lead is going to feel very comfy - and that's if we get a lead.

I saw this scheduling disadvantage from the day they shifted our game to Saturday. At the time, KC was the hot team and everyone looked at that game as an automatic loss, but I viewed this game on par with that in terms of difficulty. Aside from the rest aspect of it, there is the preparation aspect of it. LAC has had a little extra time to really look at film on the Ravens with Lamar and get a plan.

Honestly, if I were to play prognosticator - I'd feel compelled to go with LAC for my pick, with the difference maker being the short week for us and the long week for them.

I know what you mean, the Steelers knocking us out of the playoffs in the 70's broke my young heart. I hated the Steelers. When the Raiders beat us, I was just glad it was not the Steelers again....lol.
