im in the same boat. it doesnt make sense. you cant just pay a qb just because everyone else is doing so and not build around him.

Agree with what's been said. As is right now paying joe flacco and not helping him at all - In fact it's safe to say our offense is worse now than 2012 - is virtually a waste of money.
They'd have been better going with a veteran and using the money elsewhere based on the moves they made since the superbowl

Over the years we've had multiple opportunities to snap up Brandon Marshall for great value, I've always wondered why we never pulled the trigger. On that note I think Sammy Watkins is available now. WI also think we should also be looking at veteran TE options.

Watkins is exactly the type of WR we need. For the 3 games he plays at full health each year anyway...

I just cant get behind trying to trade for a player with a massive injury history. We have a veteran TE on the roster in Watson, who i actually think will produce more than most think.

Well it doesn't have to be Watkins, depending on who gets a fifth year option that 2014 draft was receiver heavy.

Anyone who had their 5th year option picked up is going to cost too much in both trade value and in future contracts to make it worth it. Hypothetically, if we're going that avenue, let's just sell the farm and go after Mike Evans. He solves every WR issue we could ever imagine having. It's rather ironic that the Bills traded up to take Watkins at 4 and the Bucs took Evans at 7th overall. It's easy to be results oriented but I feel like those two are tied at the hip given the close proximity they were drafted and the success they've had in the NFL.

I'm tired of watching him throw off his back foot only to have an interception or over throw a deep pass. I'm a big fan of Flacco, but I'm not blind. I'm wondering if Flacco losing Sr. will have the same affect on Stafford losing Megatron, he has to scan the field now instead of look to Steve right away.

As long as the o-line protects Flacco and OUR RUNNING GAME GETS GOING, then the rest of our offense will follow suit. After all, the only season we made the playoffs post-second Super Bowl was when we had a dope running game with a top-5 o-line and a top 10 scoring offense (2014). All the other seasons? Either it was horrible run-blocking or neglect to run the ball when it was effective.
