If we let mosley go who the hell is going to be our lbs peanut and kenny young.. that would be awful and would literally make us take mack wilson , if we have limitations on cj then y tf did we not have limitations on a one dimensional DT we signed to a 5 yr extension in a year we had less salary cap, letting cj go would be terrible
when did harbs say there were 'limitations on money'? all that ive seen so far is that there's negotiations going on and that by all accounts they havent stalled which would suggest that both sides are still confident a deal's gonna happen - the fact that everyone's still at the table would suggest the 2 sides arent ridiculously far apart in terms of negotiating terms
my guess is that he gets between 12 and 13 a year from us
and i dont think the franchise tag deadline is a deadline we have to worry about because there's no way we tag him at 15.5m per year because that's edge rusher numbers so we get to negotiate exclusively with him until the legal tampering period...
im still pretty confident this gets done - i didnt see the limitations on money quote anywhere so maybe that changes things but i think Cj remains a raven

The quote came direct from his presser. Now it’s not like it’s earth shattering... there are limitations on money by definition in a league with a salary cap. I think 13 will be the minimum and depending how far he wants to take it he could possibly get more on the open market. As I said there are some teams that have a lot of money to spend.
My original thought was that signing him was almost a given but I had to remind myself that not all things are guaranteed when a key player is set to hit FA. I still think he signs I just don’t feet as 100% sure as I once did. And if we sign him he’ll take a big chunk of the available space we currently have.

It's funny to hear all of Mosley's critics after a bad year but when he post 5 picks in a year hes the best etc. People forget that my guy suffered a pretty serious knee injury what week 2? I believe it was probably a meniscus tear or something like that maybe even a slight MCL tear. Being a contract year and all he played thru it. U can see he was not himself throughout the year. On top of that he bulked up in the off season which also played a part.

For all the crap we give Mosley, he is one of the best ILBs in the league and will be paid as such in the offseason. We thought this was a down year for him but he still made the probowl, which is a popularity contest. That shows how highly the rest of the league regards him.
he was also awesome most of the year anyway - people got hung up on 1 bad game and let that change how they watched him through the next few weeks...
he was still doing things this year that very few linebackers in the league even think to do let alone do them as effectively as he does
sure he only had 1 pick all year but ints typically vary greatly season to season based on luck - the whole ravens defence was down on ints despite having a better defence at every level this year than the year before

I've been lurking since the BR.Com days and you're right Mosley does get a lot of hate here which I never understood, he's a hell of a player. Normally I have blind allegiance to any Raven draft pick i.e Kyle Boller, Travis Taylor, Trash ass Deron Jenkins but Mosley is gonna be a 7-9X pro bowl player maybe more if he stays healthy he's worth every penny

I think a lot of the "hate" directed towards Mosley is based on how he plays when he's banged up because when he's close to 100 percent then he's easily one of the best LBs in the league. Unfortunately, he gets a lot of nagging injuries which just magnify his weaknesses (mainly coverage) and then you start to see some fans starting to complain about him.
We need to do all we can to keep this guy. He's a great leader for the defense and I don't trust Young or Peanut to handle play-calling duties either (Weddle can call plays, but even if he's back next year then I think it would be a reduced role with his declining physical abilities).

What....so because a player is popular among fans that makes him good? That’s just not a good point...
You can’t make fun of it for being a popularity contest and then praise him for winning the popularity contest
with Culley being hired as the new WR coach passing game coordinator i could see us bringing in Chris Conley at the right price.

That would be a nice move, actually. It wouldn’t be the worst idea and I think it would be one of the best options we would have at WR for FA.
Yes, he had a decent jump this year even being down the depth chart.
