Chernobyl was incredible. Some of the best tv I’ve ever watched and it’s a shame it was only a 5 episode miniseries but I understand the source material is really limited. But seriously, it was amazing, and frustrating as shit. Goddamn commies and their propaganda

Really incredible show - currently on holiday so don’t get to see the final episode until Saturday but I can’t wait

And not so fast with the propaganda stuff being just commie shit lol - Church rock USA is still hardly ever talked about and was dealt with embarrassingly at the time (especially the cleanup efforts and data gathering of effects)

Just finished the sopranos and... great show, but that ending, what the hell. I get it, open ended, purposely ambiguous, artistic approach and whatever, but... nah, this ain’t it chief. You don’t leave something THAT open, for the entire series. This isn’t a cliffhanger for the next season, it’s the whole SERIES. That’s just insane.

And IF it does in fact end the way many of us could assume given the context clues, then.... who and why? Butch? Little carmine? Paulie? Did Phil’s hit never get cancelled? That’s just a bullshit ending, I can come to a solid conclusion, but I don’t like ambiguous endings, and I KNEW the ending was gonna be really out of the ordinary, so maybe I shouldn’t have gotten invested, but yeah I was as upset as I could’ve expected.

That said, the open ended ambiguous ending with enough context clues to draw your own conclusions, was TEN MILLION times better than that bullshit GoT ending

just watched the first episode of Power season 6. holy shit man this show never fails to deliver tension and drama. i swear if this show had better actors for the non lead roles, it would go down as the greatest show of all time.

its not unbearably poor acting. the lead character and one of the 3 secondary characters are really good actors. but there are 2 secondary characters that are pretty average with occasional bad moments. beyond that its all pretty regular. acting is really no worse than sons of anarchy for example, its more than bearable but the occasional cringe moment every couple of episodes.

really though you get gripped up in the story pretty easy and you dont pay much mind to the acting, its a really heavy hitting crime drama, really reminiscent of breaking bad imo.

i saw someone say it was like firefly so i thought id give it a go

its game of thrones in space (with a lot of the same writers it turns out) - the politics and scale of the show as it escalates are insane - based on a set of books that will actually be finished before the show ends

its also been picked up by prime after syfy cancelled it - its got at least 2 more seasons to run (and likely more ill be honest)

i would not disagree with people who say its the best show on tv - its awesome - a bit like GOT it burns slow(ish) for about 2-3 episodes and then it kicks in to gear and never looks back

Is it anywhere near the scale and depth of GOT though? GoT to me was the only show that’s better on the second and third rewatch, after learning more about the GoT world and all the depth in the lore that you don’t see the first time around, it’s even better. I couldn’t compare any show to GoT without that aspect of it
