Could fix our problems in the slot short term, get BCarr back outside and then groom as our FS of the future behind Earl when Tavon is back.

This isn't Matt Elam, his talent didn't just disappear. He's gotten some of the worst coaching I've ever seen over the year and change he's been in the league. They played him at FIVE different positions last year as a rookie. Insane.

However...I do think DeCosta would kill himself before he gave up another 2nd round pick. Maybe a player (Chuck Clark?) and a couple 3rds? Although I would hate to see Chuck go.
Oh, I know he's talented. I just think it would be funny to jump ship and join the team who blew you out the week before.

Minkah would also be cheap given that the Dolphins pay his guaranteed money.

Someone on Reddit pointed out that he only follows one team on twitter, and it only started recently. Any guesses who..?

yes, he's already received over 60% of his contract and all of the guaranteed money, outside of his salary, which is guaranteed on the rookie deal.

i just saw it lol - tbf kinda makes sense if you look at all of his other bama alumni and how many are on this team (and the others who used to be like CJ)

but it is cool that he follows the Ravens but it doesnt look like it's that recent of a follow going back through the list

Is it weird that every time Lamar talks about how important it is to put in extra work with his receivers (even throwing to Hollywood after practice before he could run to help him get a feel for the speed of Lamar’s passes) it feels like a shot at Joe? Lol.

Clearly it’s not, but the difference in work ethic is astonishing.

I remember someone asked Joe why he doesnt work with his receivers outside of organized practice (like elite QBs) and he replied that he didn't have to, thats when I jumped off his bandwagon. It finally took us drafting Lamar for him to do so, we wasted 5 years while he coasted.

Hollywood mentioned that they even went to a park to throw some passes. Hard work beats talent 9/10.

our team in general was really bad though, and we had pees, caldwell, trestman, and marty.

honestly with a lesser qb than joe through that stretch, we probably would be star studded by now after having top 12 draft picks every year.

we don't know if Joe didn't put in work after practice, he just didn't put in the time in the offseason to workout with his WRs, like some QBs do.

if he actually didn't think it was needed and didn't do it than I've lost a ton of respect for him. He was a good QB who could have been much better and been much better. Most of his passes were late and behind receivers leading to much less yac and too many dump offs in the flat to Pitta, especially in 2017.

Haha we most certainly do know. That’s beside the point though. Joe is on the record multiple times saying that extra work with receivers simply does not matter. Lamar regularly talks about how important it is and the receivers say the same.

He didn’t have time? You make time for what’s important to you. Especially when you’re being paid 120 million dollars. Now, it was certainly his right and his approach was fair, but it’s also fair to say that he wasn’t willing to do the extra work to be great. I’m glad Lamar is one of those QBs that “has time.”

Not every elite quarterback work with his receivers outside of organize practice. I dont get why Ravens fans feel a certain way about Joe Flacco reason to not do such things. Players play 16 games in a season and during the offseason they entitiled to enjoy their days off. Lamar is not a dad and he not married like Joe Flacco. He has more free time to work with receivers or focus in football the most.

Patiently waiting for @Tank’s rebuttal. This should be good

I meant to say he didn't put in time in the offseason to workout with his receivers. He definitely was making up excuses if he didn't feel it was necessary, because the greats to workout with their receivers, not only to improve on the field chemistry, but off the field as well. Especially how often he was getting new receivers.

Actually Joe worked out with receivers in 2018 during off season.

Tom Brady was quoted as saying something similar in 2018 when asked about off season workouts with receivers. Wonder how many “jumped off” his bandwagon? Lol.

I just don’t get why ravens fans have to trash Joe just to make a point about Lamar. I appreciate Lamar’s work ethic and enthusiasm, but we’ll see if he is still playing catch with receivers during off season in years 8-10. I also appreciate what Joe did for this franchise. No one was bitching about him until after the 2014 season. He never missed a start until 2015, when he went down with knee. The injuries piled up from there. The talent he had around him during his last 5 years here was pathetic. To say we wasted 5 years with him is totally not fair.
