I’ve said it before but I can’t help but wonder how much farther along Hayden would be and how much more he would have been contributing if he hadn’t been injured last year. Also wonder if he pulls in a few of those tough catches Andrews has failed to make, suggesting its possible Hurst has better hands.

Before anyone climbs my ass about dissing Mark I have to say I have been, and continue to be one of his biggest supporters. But it could be HH is just as valuable and maybe even more so, just no way to tell at this point.

I think both are really good players and Hayden Hurst is just developing at the normal rate tight ends develop. Mark Andrews was unusual with quick development. Interesting enough, we thought Hurst would develop quicker because of his age and yes, his injury held him back last year, without question. HH is always open when running routes and I think he borrowed some of Belitnikoff's stickem as he's only dropped one pass all season.

i think hayden does have better hands - that's one of his elite traits that meant we picked him up as a first round pick - but andrews just has a knack as a route runner that makes him so tough to defend

23 receptions from 29 targets is elite. Andrews is 54 from 82. Obviously there are numerous variables that impact a completion but a pass to Hurst is almost a guaranteed reception.

When we look back I think we got lucky for the Jags not accepting our 1st,2nd and HH proposal. We got Peters. HH is now showing justification for his 1st rd pick (his blocking is spot on too) and we kept our 2 picks making the mock drafts more fun.

I still don't believe we were offering that much for Ramsey, knowing huge contract is required, too.

How does he compare to other coaches?
I don’t think any coach/team is specific with injuries unless it’s something really serious like season ending. One, they don’t want to speculate and be wrong. Two, you just don’t provide your opponent any info, period. Hockey injury reports are much worse. Usually “upper body” or “lower body”, that’s it.
