One of my favourite players in this draft - absolutely unreal value here in the 3rd round. Interior pass rush added to the DL. I'll add some breakdowns and stuff later in this thread at some point but for now I'll leave you with these clips of him at his best. Obviously there are some weaknesses, but the highlights are as good as Kinlaw and Brown...

One game from 2018 and I see the difference that was talked about earlier. He looks like a upshaw type heavy edge in the 2018 game I watched, looks like a 5tech and base package 3tech for run stuffing now. So he’s got some versatility, and he’s got some traits in general, play strength is obviously ridiculous, he’s a real powerful player with great leg driving push, high motor guy too.

Hmmmm...sounds like a run stuffing Raven to me. I'm fine with it. Camp competition at least as a day 3 pick. Honestly sometimes... you need to draft camp bodies. The young motivated type

What I watched of his tape wasn’t bad, he looks like the type that would find a spot here because we value a rotation and run stopping so much, I agree that he isn’t a nose because he just isn’t holding up well to double teams like a bwill or pierce, but yeah he does really well to just drive a single blocker back with driving legs and low hips, he’s basically a pure bull rusher and he does it all over the line and really he does it pretty damn well, and by bull rusher I don’t mean “rusher” as in pass rusher, just like he bulls his blockers very well

Rossi! that makes me happy to hear. This guy is awesome. Not that Ill prove anything but I'm just finishing a video and Ill post it here shortly. He is a serious 3T that absolutely knows how to extend and shed. powerful hands. plays with great technique and he is position less . They might ask him to play 5T in an odd front and move him over a guard (or shade) full time. He is NOT a NT...he can play there but that is not the way to use him
not sure how we all missed him. I blame @rossihunter2 lol

i know i posted this already - but some of the things Madubuike does against LSU in the tape here are ridiculous - the way he dealt with that double team (last clip) from 2 day 2 LSU OL (cushenberry and lewis) at the end of a long day was so powerful (even more impressive because lewis is a mauler)

and tested amazingly

but all of those DL sort of fell further than i thought - blacklock is really the only one who went close to where i had him graded
I think it was in part due to all the WR's and some of them going higher than anticipated, like Claypool.

I think the reason the DTs fell is because there was a very long lasting run on the combination of wrs, RBs, OTs, and dbs, teams just all didn’t feel pressured to take DTs. Marlon Davidson went mid 2nd and that could be considered a small fall.

I think of the DTs outside of the top 2, any of them could’ve went late round 1, blacklock, Davidson, and madubuike, they were all first round talents and who goes first is a matter of preference, madubuike was my preference before any of them went off the board and I’m ecstatic he’s here.

madubuike falling that far was really just him being a victim of the moment. If the falcons or Texans preferred madubuike to Davidson or blacklock then he would’ve went much earlier and not one person would’ve questioned “why did you choose him over X or Y?” And then Davidson or blacklock would’ve fell to us in 3 and we’d be asking the same thing about them lol
