can his production be drafted and/or found in FA next year?

We've let go of better players that were harder to replace than Judon.

Let him go.
I don't know, and neither do the Ravens. Generally it wouldn't be a good idea to let him walk and then wait until the following offseason to attempt to find a replacement. If they thought they could find a comparable or better player for cheaper in FA, or find anything in the baron wasteland that was the 2020 OLB NFL draft, I'm sure they would have done so.

So short answer is neither I nor you know if they can find better production. Obviously finding it in 2020 is a problem...

the more i think about it, the more i think Fluker was actually a lowkey great signing. i think hes always needed the right coach to unlock his potential, i think Joe D is that guy considering hes already done it once. yeah i feel like fluker is gonna run away with the RG job and maybe see himself keep it a little while.
He started his career in the NFL under Joe D's tutelage too. So Joe D certainly had some input in his signing. So I tend to agree with you!

I would’ve liked to see us end up with Terrell Lewis, I thought he was risky and for more than health reasons, but I thought if there was any team who he could shine with it was us, I don’t see Lewis as a pure edge rusher but more of a rush weapon ala McPhee, though much lighter. He just seemed to do his best work on stunts and secondary rushes bringing that second wave of pressure, which is a skill set that would be put to good use here
I think that will change in pros after he adds some bulk. If he can stay healthy, he'll become premium edge defender.

i just dont see him finishing rushes around the arc, he struggles so badly with bending that edge from what ive seen, which is why im saying he can be a real weapon on stunts.

Are we really going to pay Ronnie ,Tunsil + money?
Yes. You’d be opposed to it? Left Tackle is obviously a premium position and we have the best one in the league who’s extremely young and has good rapport with LJ. Obviously you might have to make some sacrifices, but keeping your QB’s blindside clean is worth every penny in my opinion

There is like a 95% chance his potential wont be unlocked. He has been in lg for 8-9 yrs and i dnt ever recall him even being mediocre. Now he could possibly look decent for us due to our system and how it could hide his weakness but him actually being good to the point where we can brag about him, wont happen

Bill O Brian really fucked the league on the left tackle market, in 2 years we went from Taylor Lewan getting 16 million to Tunsil at 22 million. A year from now Stanley might want 25.

1. This was inevitable anyway. There's so very few stud LTs in the league that the values were only going to skyrocket. The 2020 class is supposed to be one of the best ever in that regard, and you've had only a handful of even competent LTs coming out of college the last few years.
2. All that really matters is the guaranteed money, not the total amount or even the annual amount. I had Ronnie slotting in around $40-45M guaranteed, and Tunsil got $40M guaranteed, so I think that's about right.
You can sign Stanley for 5 years for $150M, but if only $50M of is guaranteed, the rest doesn't even matter. He'll be on year-to-year contracts after two years like most long term deals.

Also props to the Texans for a good deal structure. That's how Stanley's deal should look. Modest bonus, larger base salaries, helps flatten out the cap hits a bit, especially on the back end.

let him go. He's a very good tackle but overrated. He's not even much of a run blocker. If he's asking for 23-25 million, unless you're Ogden or Orlando Pace or Walter Jones

Go destroy some other teams cap space.

Wait. You acknowledge that Stanley is a very good tackle but you wouldn't have an issue letting him go?

for the money he wants he can go fuck off. If he were an elite two way tackle, ( ie as good in run blocking as he is pass blocking) i'd have no issues with his demands

he's not. He's a great pass protector and an average run blocker and he hasn't got better at the latter at all during his career

also, i don't buy into his grades over the last two years because lamar DOES help him tremedously when it comes to his ability to move around the pocket.

In a vacuum Stanley is the leagues best pass blocker in a league with very few elite pass blocking LTs. His value is also intrinsically tied to Lamar who is the engine of this whole operation.

If we were a team with no QB like say the Patriots or Jaguars then he wouldnt have the same value and we could move him.

1 player isn't worth handicapping our capspace by 20%

sorry. Ronnie Stanley isn't a once or even twice or even thrice a generation player.

Ok does this mean you're generally against extending QBs after their rookie contract?
Stanley is arguably the best pass blocking LT in the league. If this means we can't extend Humphrey so be it.
