I wonder what it would take for any team to obtain Yannick

The Chiefs continue to secure a potential dynasty as they lock in Franchise Tag player DL Chris Jones to a 4 year $85M contract with $60M guaranteed.

That's $21.25M per year, Jones asking price was at least $20M per year.

Forget Yannick, and forget Judon signing a long term deal.

Browns & DE Myles Garrett closing in on 5 year $125M deal. That's $25M per year.
What are the Jags doing? They have less than 24h time to deal him or the compensation is going to be substantially lower.

I presume they are happy for him to play under the tag. Worse case they get a 3rd round comp pick but maybe they still want to keep him.

chiefs signed chris jones too.

they entered the offseason with $15 in cap space, how in tf are they doing this? exhibit A ladies and gentlemen, joe flaccos contract.

if pat mahomes and chris jones cant absolutely carry a bum chiefs squad, then theyre in trouble for the long term lol. while THIS chiefs team is together they will kick some ass, but by 2022-23 i imagine they will be in quite a bit of cap trouble and at that point theyll be leaning on mahomes to carry them with very weak talent around him.

That's the beauty of the rookie contract. Mahomes is still cheap for the next two seasons at $5M cap hit this year and the 5th year option in 2021 at $24M. That means they can handle Chris Jones' new deal for those next two years before the Mahomes mega deal kicks in, it's going to be interesting to see how they get creative to keep talent on the team. They have worked the cap pretty well, I'll give them that but man come 2022 and beyond is when things will get tight with the cap.

I know you shouldn't pay Runningbacks but I think this is the one exception. Can't believe the Titans kept both Tannehill & Derrick Henry on long term deals, thought for sure they would have decided on paying Derrick and letting Ryan go since any QB can look good handing the ball off to Henry lol.

This will supposedly run tomorrow in an article in the Washington Post

until it runs its hard to work out its legitimacy but if true there's a couple of things in there which have already been reported on (in some manner) that should have been bigger scandals at the time (like the cheerleading stuff)

but some stuff in there that should/could blow the NFL wide open and cause some major uprooting of the league's personnel
