The Good (?), the Bad and the Ugly: Week 4 Edition

When you're running in one direction, you can't jump in the other directions. It's pure science, I don't even know how it's a debate.
Lol.....he didn't need to "jump in the other direction". The ball hit him in the hands as it was. If he literally lifts his feet off the ground 2 inches it hits the palms of his hands. Looks like he lost track of where he was on the field.

He did jump. That ball had very little possibility of being caught by anyone his height and he's pretty tall.

Yes he did because the ball was behind him. All he could do was turn around and in that situation all he could do was touch the ball with a finger.

Boldin would have caught it and you all know it.

yeah and ended on IR after tearing multiple ligaments trying to defy the law of physics lol.

He wouldn't have gained enough vertical elevation while staying in-bounds considering that he was jumping while moving backwards unless he defied the laws of physics. There wasn't a defender in sight. In terms of intermediate passing, it was an absolute gimmie of a throw, and instead, it turned into a significantly improbable fingertip catch. Perriman's been a disappointment this season, along with the rest of the passing game, but that incompletion was far more on the throw than the catch.
But Truth, he's a first round receiver. He has to defy the laws of physics in order to make that catch(Fwiw. This isn't logic. By this "logic" it's acceptable for Antonio Brown to not make the catch but Breshad should be crucified"). Truth is right. Otherwise he should be cut ASAP.

It is on both and I agree, but farso more on Joe. Flacco threw it outside the numbers. Perriman could have stopped and adjusted, but he actually did his job. He was wide, fucking, open. as wide open as you can get. Now, had he had adjusted to it instead of falling back, he would have caught it. But he got wide open, it's Flacco's job to get him the damn ball accurately. An accurate throw, that'smore likely a TD.

Sorry guys. I like Flacco: He's sucked this season. He sucked last year. He was bad the year before. I think he eventually turns it around, I think he was actually working on his game this offseason before the back injury(and sometimes, it shows. He was throwing dimes at some point yesterday and was doing the same vs. the Browns. He didn't really do that at all the past two years. I do think a big part of his current struggles is discomfort). But as of right now, he needs to get his shit together, and he knows it. It's hard for any WR to have production when the QB is sucking this hard.

Joe needs to get his head out of his ass. And for a brief moment yesterday he did. Even with the shitty oline play, their were plays yesterday a good NFL QB would have capitalized on to win the game.

Fucking hell Joe. Seriously.

lol......I know Flacco sucked yesterday but the ball thrown to Perriman should have been caught. As Fouts said "That ball was high but should be caught by any NFL receiver". He was 5 yards from the sideline! Jumping a couple of inches puts the ball in his hands and he would be no where near going out of bounds.

I want to see Perriman succeed as much as anyone but like I said before the longer the board hands issues persist the less likely it's fixed.

I think you're starting to see some accuracy improvements with Joe this last game. Yes he got intercepted twice but the ball was on target for the most part. There was that play where he missed Perriman wide open. But on the flip side how many times at the end of the game did he thread the needle between players. You saw that short spark from the offense. They need to improve off of that.

Even if Perriman should have caught it, the bigger issue on that throw was Flacco.

Perriman has the inside track to the end zone and is looking over his inside shoulder. Why is the ball not only placed high, but also placed outside? A well placed throw (even remotely well) and Perriman walks in. But Flacco threw it in such a way that Perriman was completely moved off his mark and even if he does catch it, he likely doesn't score.

Should Perriman catch it? Eh, tough grab. Should Joe make that throw? 10/10 yes.

The point to be taken here is that even though Flacco has been struggling with accuracy he is getting zero help from his receivers other than Watson. All QBs go through bad streaks, granted maybe not often as bad as we have seen the last couple of games, but they get help from their guys. As bad as Joe has been he would not be looking near as bad with consistently competent WRs.

It's a throw every QB is expected to make, especially when a receiver is that wide open you should never overthrow him like that. I don't think he would even score if he came down with that catch, that's honestly how bad the pass was.

Judon has effectively disappeared. I wonder if his losing weight was a good idea. He appears to have sacrificed punch and his ability to disengage blocks.

Maclin threw his helmet in disgust and walked away from Morhniweg per Cerratto.

Except, they're getting open, but they probably lead the league in fewest targets among the top 3 receivers. I know for the first three games Joe had like 5 passes travel more than 10 yards in the air.

This receiving corp in terms of raw talent is probably the best he's ever had.
