What a movie though... like holy shit I have never seen such an exciting game

picturebook - the backup coming in, the momentum shift, the injury to trace only for that to be the moment that Lamar comes out of the tunnel

he throws the TD - but there's too much time left - but he gets one more chance to win it and he does it

the whole game basically followed the classical structure of any screenplay

i wanna say also that Fluker did well enough - wasnt good but did just enough to not tank the offence with the other 4 guys on the OL playing well

Tyre might have set himself back a lot - that game did not go well for him - it's not gonna define his career but there's a lot to learn from what happened against the high-level competition he was facing

but it also probably demonstrates more clearly than any other game that his future is very much not at tackle - he just does not have the feet for it

Screenplay we would criticize as cheezy and unrealistic though. But it happened! We say in french "la réalté dépasse la fiction" This might indeed become a legendary game for us.

on top of all the other storylines - marlon broke the franchise record for most forced fumbles in a season

only one season by Charles "Peanut" Tillman had more (which was 10 FFs in 2012) - Marlon's still got a shot at matching/beating that season

i think it also might be twice as many FFs as anyone else in the league at any position this year

We still are not getting sacks . That is my biggest concern . Did we even get one sack ? I don’t think so

No sacks, although they missed a few prime opportunities (Ngakoue and Elliott come to mind, but there were definitely more). Worse, they did not record a QH after halftime, and the Browns had their way in Q4 (12 pass attempts for 128 yards, 10.7 YPA).

In their defense, D played a lot of snaps (I have 83), and they lost Jimmy before halftime (last snap was (Q2, 01:16)). Levine was getting some nickel snaps after injuries to Peters and Harris, and Richards was on the field in dime for the final snap of the game (when literally every healthy DB except Desir was in the game). Richards now has 3 defensive snaps with the Ravens: final snap of finale against PIT in 2019, final snap of this game, and 1 snap in the second game against PIT replacing Elliott.

As rossi points out, sure would have been nice to have Averett instead of Ingram (who played the opening snap and that was it). He must have a consecutive starts streak that they don't want to break (à la Carr in 2019).

Fluker was certainly better than Phillips tonight, who got 1 snap into his 2nd rotation at RT and was pulled (mid-drive!). The Ravens allowed a sack on 74's final 3 snaps: (Q2, 14:53), (Q2, 14:19), (Q2, 04:11). He was also on the field for all 4 sacks allowed. Not good.

in defence of the... defence - they finished the game with 1 healthy corner and 2 special teamers on the field playing db to try and get any DBs on the field at the end

the LB play was not good to be polite but the overall woes of the defence seem at least partly related to the fact we were running out of healthy players and then the front 7 got gassed by the 2 long drives by the Browns

it's not great that we gave up 22 points in the 4th quarter but it's notable that all the problems with personnel the ravens had were happening simultaneously with the change in momentum for the browns

im not worried about this defence's play level - i am worried about the fact that we seem to run out of corners every week - hopefully averett's able to be back properly next week, and hopefully jimmy smith can get healthy at some point down the stretch at which point pierre desir and tramon williams and devontae harris are all adequate players to put on the field as extra CBs and DBs in a pinch

To defend the secondary is fine for the most part. But still, the pass rush is inexcusable and Humphrey on that last Browns TD was inexcusable. They didnt make any plays tonight outside the Bowser pick. Regardless of who's out on the feild I feel that's unacceptable from a Ravens defense

i mean i get that but also we got some pressure early in the game (it just disappeared in the 2nd half) but also this is probably one of the best 2 or 3 OLs in football this year

that's not to say we shouldnt be getting pressure especially given how long baker likes to hold the ball but we're not a good pass rush despite the supposed pedigree of the players within that pass rush group

the front 7 as a whole did not play well - the LBs especially though - Queen's having a poor stretch right now - but it's not just him, Chris Board looked awful, Harrison was hardly on the field it seemed and I don't know where LJ Fort disappeared to this week

Hollywood will get criticised - fairly - for the potentially catastrophic drops

but credit where credit's due - the Browns tried to jam the hell out of him and bully him within those first 5 yards and he fought his way through the contact of 2 separate DBs to come open - it's the kind of physicality that he's not shown earlier in the year and it's the kind of fight that's nice to see

without him forcing his way out of that contact, we don't convert that 4th and 5 and the game probably ends very differently

the mental hole he's got himself into with these drops is a real problem though but I'm not going to ignore the good things he's doing as a 2nd year player

i think what's been shown though is that however good he can be we cannot rely on him and we cannot afford to go into 2021 without adding more receiving weapons

you made a mistake not watching.

greatest regular season ravens game of all time, and lamar just hushed a whole fucking lot of critics in the gutsiest way in primetime

* I don’t think this game will hush them yet. I say that because their number one talking point is always Lamar and the Ravens can’t overcome 10 point deficits etc. So they will quickly point out the Ravens led the entire game after The Browns scored on the opening drive.

Then it’s going to be some underhanded complements such as then after seeing Lamar miss guys who would have thought he’d lead the Ravens by passing it.

I’ll take the W.
