I think it’s a must that we draft a Michigan player every year.

harbs making that deal with EDC so lil brother Jim can use that as ammunition during his recruitment process.

this is my only logical explanation lol

M
Daelin Hayes, Edge ND. Never heard of him.
very hybrid type of player, real OLB, impressive first step, flexible, drops very well into coverage, solid length, good motor, effective blitzer.

play strength could be much better, plays better in space than he does engaging/stacking/shedding, raw with hands. Has pass rush traits but doesn’t jump off film as a stand-alone edge rusher. Could be of use in our defense twisting and stunting, dropping into zones, attacking screens, and should make his money in the flats.

Does this mean we want to convert him into a DT?

I don't know but it would be interesting to see him move to tight end and used occassionally at fullback/h back. This way it would allow Project Pat to play both fullback and defensive end more next year if he makes the team.

Random thought but maybe they want to move on from Boyle. Edc drafted Mason because of his blocking and Boyle's mainly here to block.

probably more about the 3rd TE spot than Boyle - eric tomlinson and josh oliver were the only guys on the roster competing there and the 3rd TE role is a blocking only type role in this offence

i doubt boyle's going anywhere anytime soon (didnt they just extend him a couple of months ago?)

You don’t just replace nick boyle, he’s different as a blocking TE, like really different, and he’s really underrated as a receiver too
