i think in the modern era we'll never see anyone shut down anyone like Revis did - it's too difficult to not get got at least once especially with some of the creative route concepts that teams throw at defences

pat peterson will probably go down as one of the top 2 corners of the last decade but he wasn't shut down by any means...

Peterson was a big playmaker though

he's overrated in the sense that many people have him way ahead of the pack and dont question it

but he probably is still the best CB in the league - but the others are close enough that there's valid arguments that he's not
This is how I feel. Ramsey has a slight lead over the logjam of guys that are all strong cases for the #2 spot. Ramsey at 1, then you could argue Humphrey, Alexander, tre white, Gilmore, and Howard for #2 and honestly it’s hard to argue one over another, they’re all right there and I’m not sure how long Ramsey can claim the top spot over all of these guys

My how the mighty have fallen. Remember Marshon Lattimore being considered one of the best/top 3-5 CBS?

Agree. It's probably why Revis has an island in his name.

Rex ryan also blitzed alot though.. revis didnt have to cover for long. I mean he still had exceptional footwork and hips but alot of times when he was beat, pressure was just too much and qb always ended up throwing a bad pass.. only thing with revis, i feel like he didnt do long enough, however those few yrs were just so good that it dnt matter

You can also look at it as with all the blitzing, Revis really was all by himself with no support over the top to help out.

yes, for a top cornerback he did have a short career or atleast prime.

i mean he's played with other coordinators and different systems - he's the best CB ive ever seen since i started watching the NFL

He likely is the best but i like sherman more.. saw both rodgers and brady literally not even look to his side nor target the wr he was covering

If im our front office, id pay roman whstever he wants to keep him as our run game coordinator cause i dnt think he gonna last as our oc... hands down the best in nfl with run schemes though, but his play design for passes isnt even decent.

Coaches don’t typically take demotions from the same team very well. I think we tried that with Marty M, but he immediately declined even though he had no other position to go to at the time.
