Next Up: vs Chargers

I swear I think this started from his flip. Can’t convince me otherwise, you just don’t land like that and have no issues at all

He's not even 25 and you think that flip is really what caused it? It might just be flaring up from carry the offense. Seriously between the hits running sliding and regular wear and tear I highly doubt it was the flip. In some of these games he's tried trucking defenders.

Its the way he landed.. i used to do flips all the time, from off gates, houses everything lol and the worst landing i had wasnt even my face, it was legit similar to how lamar landed. Its like a lingering aching stiffness.. didnt last long but at same time i wasnt getting hit by guys that weigh 200+..

Hi everyone!!! I think using the vs KC tactic, we will be calm, no blitz, fold ekeler and williams, not allow the "big" play, that's where Herbert makes you pay.
in attack, they are bad against the race, in theory James will "spy" on Lamar, I think it is a good game for Le'veon, he is the one who has the best vision of our Rb, in addition to the best aerial game, if we can have patience in defense , it's a winnable match.

Age doesn’t save you from back problems if they’re impact induced lol. When I was 18 I broke my tailbone and had back spasms regularly for years afterwards. That impact to the back of his hip could throw shit out of alignment, back injuries can occur from way less regardless of age. Of all the hits Lamar has taken, none look more likely to induce back problems than his flip, that landing was horrible and I can’t watch that and think he didn’t hurt himself.

yes before the initial 53 there's a season ending I/R but again you can't choose which one you go on - if you go on pre-initial 53 you're on season ending i/r no matter what your injury and if you're on the post-53 I/R then you're on the potential DTR I/R list

but I don't think there's a different designation between the 2 lists
I hope they don't change this. This was started due to covid, but it makes more sense for it to become permanent.

Welcome to the boards and I could absolutely see Wink employing a somewhat similar approach that we had in the KC game. Will be interesting and a tough game.

i think some of these rules are now permanent - i think the entire league appreciated the additional flexibility and the NFLPA has no reason not to like it because it means more guys are getting game checks and more guys are getting paid to stay in the NFL on the expanded practice squads

ive had back issues since i was 13 but it all stemmed from a non-contact injury in a game of rugby (ironic that it was non-contact lol given the nature of the sport)

The worst part about being young with back issues is the boomers telling you you’re young and don’t have back issues. I swear I be wanting to punch old folks when they come at me sideways with that shit lol

i work a physical job with lots of lifting and awkward angles etc. so anyone who's ever wondering just assumes it's originally because of that lol (not that any of that helps haha)

thats really good to know. it does benefit everyone, especially the players who have been forced onto iR when they easily could have come back.

gonna be really interesting to see what staley does against us - his philosophy on defence has been to basically give up gaps in the running game and challenge teams to run it vs their DL or pass out of inopportune looks

every team this season has taken the approach of stopping the ravens running game from working (which has worked) and forced lamar to beat them through the air

but that approach is the complete antithesis of what Staley's been doing for the last 2 years with the Rams and now Chargers

i wonder if he's finally the game-planner who respects lamar the passer and would rather we run (which given how we've been running would probably be the smart choice)

Kinda scared of that tbh lol

Ravens Ring of Honor
Let's face it our defense is trash. Oweh,Campbell maybe Clark are the only ones Ive been impressed with. The secondary, including Humphrey ,have underperformed big time. The inside linebackers may be the worst in the league from what ive seen.

Lamar is the only one who can take us to the promised land with a win against the Chargers. Nobody else on this team can do it other than Tucker.

I'm ambivalent about whether we give Herbert the Mahomes treatment and not blitz or come with lots of blitzes. Give me your thoughts on this .

I don't think we match up well against the Chargers but Lamar is the GREAT EQUALIZER.

Could you imagine a healthy Dobbins and Gus hearing that a defense is daring us to run? Salivating, they would be.
