The Battling, The Injuries and More Injuries

It was, in my opinion, dreadfully bland and poor. Even if Lamar isn't on his game, he is always aggressive and pushing the ball.

With Huntley, he's just so passive and timid and can't push the ball down the field.

This will be the best offense the Ravens have faced in weeks and Huntley is not going to be able to keep up with the Packers if they play as they have recently. Lamar can at least challenge a defense vertically.
Bland maybe, but NOT terribly bland or poor IMO. I think you’re being a little hard on him considering he’s a second year QB and that was his first NFL start ever. We won the game so I would argue he played well enough not to lose the game. It was a FG game for sure but he was good enough to move into FG range 3 times, and to get to the 3 yard line for the Freeman TD, for the win, with 22 seconds left in the game. I’m pretty happy with that.

If we phrase it as he's a second year UDFA making his first ever start, then he played exactly like that- an UDFA making his first start. That was 100% the Bears game to win and they absolutely botched it, but I digress.

The offense still looked poor and uninspired. It's great that he won, and I'm thrilled the Ravens did win, but that game did little to move the needle on the possibility that he could be an NFL starter or more than a career backup.

The offense has looked poor and uninspiring for a while now so I wouldn’t put all of that on Huntley. Our OL sucks and we have practice squad RB’s. To me that’s the bigger problem right now. Yes Huntley is a UDFA backup QB ho may never be a starter in this league but he’s played well enough for us to win the game against the bears and be in a position to win at the end this past Sunday. And that s all I’m saying.

Absolutely.

Huntley's average air yards and depth of target were down as compared to Lamar, so he isn't pushing it downfield, but when he does, he has to have that ugly Tebow windup and throw his whole body into it for it to go.... 30 yards. Then, we see Lamar and Herbert throwing 50+ with the flick of their wrist. Just a monumental difference.
Naw herbert 50+ different from lamars. Lamar throws be in the air forever. Herbert has crazy velocity behind his.

Sure, the offense has been bad for weeks now and Tyler didn't change that and 100% will not change that.

I'm just laughing at people who think he might revitalize this offense. He won't.

ironically im not sure what the execution failure was here - i just thought this was an excellent play by denzel ward...

only things i can think of are that maybe bateman could have been quicker to slant rather than slow-playing the release and huntley's throw was a bit high that slowed bateman's momentum slightly

otherwise not sure what he could be referring to...

Lol, I think I’ve been saying that it makes no difference who the QB is right now. We have bigger issues.

That's fine- I've been more addressing the people who actually view Huntley as a legitimate option.

I haven't been part of this discussion at all, and I'm not at all a "fan" of Huntley. But, I think he has far surpassed my own expectations on him. To me, he's been better passer than RG3 was for us the last few years, which OTOH isn't saying much. He's got a bunch of bad things going for him, but I've been impressed with the way he runs the offense; doesn't seem to be confused by scheme and doesn't look rattled. The stats, although not great, are not terrible either.
Probably correct that he's a career backup, but I don't think many people though Tyrod was going to be the starting QB on 5(?) different teams when he left here. Multiple of those being teams he was the week 1 starter. So perhaps Huntley can develop into something like that? Perhaps not, but I'm at least fine with what he's giving us at the moment.

It's entirely possible. I didn't think Tyrod would go from backup to starting for a team in one offseason, so Huntley doing it isn't out of the question at all.

Didnt Bateman say the play was great in the presser, just the D played it perfectly? Hopefully he doesnt take this personally from GR.

Is Lamar playing Sunday?

coaches are playing coy but he hasnt practiced and all the other signs point to his availability being very much in question

my guess is he doesnt but the ravens clearly want the packers to think there's at least a chance he does (not that i think it matters that much because we run a very similar offence with huntley stylistically and schematically - it's just he's not anywhere close to lamar in talent level)
