I'm just worried that he's the one giving out the information to Josina and whomever else that we made him a competitive offer in an effort to get more in LA

that's likely that he did do that - but the fact that he was talking yesterday with them (even if he fed that to josina) suggests that there's talks going on - like clearly he wants the rams to know that this is happening but that doesnt mean that the rams are gonna do anything about it (they're in a worse cap position than we are in terms of signing him to a big deal or 1 year deal and while they have the ability to restructure some guys to make him fit... so do we)

until it's done im not going to assume it's done - but there's been no indication that he's actively negotiating with anyone other than the rams or ravens

I honestly think if he's trying to "use" the Ravens to get a better offer in LA, he's not feeding that through Josina. That's going through a Rapoport or a Schefter. Josina is very calculated with what she puts out there and she's not going to risk those relationships.

I have no doubts Lamar wants to be a Raven for life but his tactics are a bit odd. What does he really gain by delaying his new deal? He should be asking for and get 50M/year. It ridiculous ,but that's what the market dictates. It sounds like the Ravens front office is frustrated( rightfully so) by the recent QB signings, but also ready to pay Lamar. So Lamar seems to be the single point of failure on this one which keeps leading to conspiracy theories that he wants out of Bmore

Not saying it will or won't happen this year, but still have to remember that Lamar is his own agent here and it's offseason time. There will undoubtedly be more traction when he's back in the building - whether it gets done or not is the question. His negotiations aren't as likely to be happening over the phone with an agent like every other guy.

or more likely - he's just seen a guy be accused by 22 women of sexual misconduct and assault, not play football for a year, get traded away from his first team and sign the biggest aav deal in NFL history and have it fully guaranteed

he knows that even if he gets injured, he's going to get paid - the only direction his price can and will go is up

i dont get why people have such a hard time understanding what he's doing here - the longer he waits, the bigger the deal will eventually be either because more massive QB deals get done and increase the price, or because the salary cap increases (which it will) and increases the price, or because he gets franchise tagged once or even twice and that sets the baseline of his next deal which increases the price

the only thing he loses out on is the immediate dividend from signing a contract that big - but he's gonna get 23m this year anyway so i imagine he's ok waiting

It kind of reminds me of Ray Lewis on the Rich Eisen show the other day talking about when he was a free agent. Ravens/Steve just kind of told him to go on vacation and they would be there when he got back. Same thing goes here, Calais will be back. He doesn’t want to go anywhere else(I hope)

Saw that, I feel pretty strongly that ray was full of shit lol. It was rumored that he told a cowboys player it was a dream to play for the cowboys and supposedly they made him a weak offer and ray took a much better deal from us
 
I sincerely hope Bobby isn’t waiting for the Donald extension to sign a one year deal there and wastes our time in the process
