2022 General Draft Thoughts

Since we are picking at 14, is there any player that would be good value to move back into the first for the 5th year option?
imho this is not the year to move back into the 1st for that extra year.
Overall it's a very weird class - this is the first time I don't have an off-ball lb with a 1st round grade.

you dont have a 1st round grade on devin lloyd?
why not?
I only have 20-24 players with a 1st round grade. If I had to rank all prospects then I'd rank him ~28-34.

Lloyd lacks power and physique and he's already 23 yo. He struggled even when he blitzed to get through blocks. I will only have a 1st round grade on off-ball Lb when they don't have any apparent weakness to justify their positional value.
We all know the NFL changed and the box got lighter in general and lb need range. Which Lloyd definitely has. There are definitely teams which will accept this trade off when it comes to Lloyd though

idk i agree with you about blocks - i see a guy who has legit pass rush moves off the edge and is a dangerous blitzer - i see someone who's got good take-on technique in the running game, a quick trigger, good at the LoS generally - but also someone really comfortable vs TEs and RBs in coverage who has a great feel for routes behind him zone and who lets the QB's eyes take him to the ball - and with the range and length to cause issues for QBs in throwing windows

i see some inconsistency to his play at times, obviously the age is a factor too and i think he could lunge a bit less as a tackler, maybe a little hip tightness impacting his instant change of direction explosion...

but i dont see many/any weaknesses to his game right now

About as ideal and realistic a mock generator can get. Ebiketie and Jackson going that late are the least realistic parts but not completely out of the question. I’d be thrilled with this

I know there are more pressing needs but Im loving the idea of WR at 14. Talk about a match up nightmare if we trot out Andrews, Batemen, Hollywood, and Olave/Williams/ Burks…… There would absolutely be a mismatch on every play for Lamar to chose from.

Also nice insurance if Hollywood/Batemen suffer an injury.

I really think we have a good shot to make 2 trades that give us the opportunity to make 2 picks in the first round.

Given that we have 1 pick in both round 1 and 2, if we can make 2 picks in top 32 as opposed to top 64, I believe we'll get the best return out of that.

The philosophy being you've got a lot of third and 4th rounders. Go get 2 sure fire guys and then just go to town picking later round guys with your many picks.

I think our best course would be to trade back from both of our top 2 picks, and use the ammunition picked up to make 5 picks on day 2. go from 7 picks in the first 4 rounds to 6, but have 3 of those 6 being much higher value

This includes making 0 or 1 pick on day 1?

My one question related to this is... is the difference in 3rd round talent really all that different from 4th round talent this year? For me at least, there are so many guys right on the precipice.

BEEN TELLIN YALL KARLAFTIS IS THAT MF!!!

Ebiketie and Drake Jackson having elite win rates is no surprise either. Those guys are 2 of the most elite slept on prospects in the class
I wouldn't mind GK at all honestly lol. It'd be nice to have Oweh and whoever else pin their ears back and do their thing without having to manufacture pressure with blitzes all the time

There is a huge difference between Karlaftis and Johnson here. I've had JJ way higher than GK for a long while despite having GK as my 14th best prospect for the Ravens.

Is GK on JJ's level or higher even???
