Yeah, it's tricky. On one hand you are right about McDonald:Ojabo connection with regards to playbook, usage, etc. It should help. It's so tricky though because it'll depend on his recovery from the injury but I think the good is that they have that automatic connection & Ojabo knows Oweh too. These are all things that will make it easier for Ojabo to make an impact. The question is to what extent is his physical recovery & acclimation to the NFL speed and conditioning to which he will completely miss. It's a reason he fell and certainly a reason for concern. I think Ojabo will be best used rotationally and if that's your view of him, I think it's reasonable. Then again, you can never say never with some of these dudes. Nobody here is his doctor as far as I know lol
Clearly, the intention is to use him sparingly in rotation. I agree we really don't know his prognosis or how he'll adjust to the speed of the NFL. Fair points. We shall just have to wait and see!

Oh no doubt but the point is he’ll at least know the playbook and be familiar with the scheme and McDonald will know him and how to use him. I don’t think Ojabo will be an every down player coming back from the injury but he’ll probably be rotational.

Suggs is a little different because he’s a veteran and was established. Yeah he came back but I don’t know if you can compare them because yeah the recovery may be the same but the return to the field may be different.

agreed - its not that i think he wont play at all as a rookie - just dont think hell be playing more than 25 snaps in a game as a rookie even by the end of the season

Ehh, maybe. He wanted out as early as 3-4 months ago. I'm not sure he'd known what the Ravens long term plans were at this point.
It's a run heavy offense and he hasn't had much help to get him in one-on-one looks. I think he truly just didn't like the offense here.
Realistically, it would have been hard for him to have the kind of year in 2022 that would elevate his market value. You're now getting another year with Bateman, Andrews, and a team that almost certainly is going to try to run the ball more than last year. I think he's realized he's sort of "peaked" in terms production on this team.
Money may have been a factor, but I'm not convinced the FO had shut the door on trying to keep him long term.

And while I'm sure on social media there's tons of people who are blaming Roman for this, and realistically, he probably is the reason Hollywood wanted out. But I'm not firing Roman to keep Hollywood and pay him $20M+ or whatever he'll get long term. Like he's a good player, but he's not an alpha player that I'm literally turning over coaching staff and systems to make feel better. Ain't worth all that.

Plus, from a contract standpoint, if the Ravens really had already decided not to pay him big $ long term, then you trade him next year, not this year. You trade him before he hits FA and when his cap hit balloons on the 5th year option.
I get it, that all makes sense but I don't buy the arguments based of the run heavy scheme. I mean the guy had 146 targets in 2021. Thats 10th in the league. He might see that many now with Hop suspended, but he had no idea that was happening and it seems unrealistic to think he would have gotten that many with Hop in the lineup

Roman gets a lot of grief from fans, but it seems our offense, specifically the pass game, have been some clear adjustments for the better. Regardless, I cant complain with how it worked out. I'm happy to have a new center and Hollywood's future contract issues off our books.

Well I think if you read some of the quotes and speculation, quantity of targets may be less important to him than quality of targets.

I don't know what volume in ARZ will be, but Kirk got 103 targets last year as the #1 WR. They throw the ball a lot more, obviously.

Yeah, I could see him making an impact and I think that's all we need. He will essentially sub out Ferguson (if he makes the team) and allow us to generate some pressure.

Yup I think that's a fine amount too TBH. If he gets more, awesome, but those aren't bad snap counts per game IMHO for a guy coming off an Achilles.

Hollywood wanted to be put in a better situation where he have a better chance at getting better money… thats all to it.
Yeah. It’s as simple as can be. Greg Roman’s offense just wasn’t it for him, everyone accepted it while the getting was still good for everyone.

Asa Jackson. That's all lol
He was a grade above me in high school lol. He was a QB. Little bitch got to play with Ray and Ed and I'm so jealous

I will say I think that’s the upper limit and especially early id expect him to be closer to 10 snaps

And the Cards needed a Plan B with Hopkins out. It really worked out best for all, including the Ravens.

I mean with both the Hopkins situation and the QB situation they 100% overpaid in an effort to try and keep their QB happy, which is in the long-term best interest of the Cardinals.

If you wait until next year you probably do not get a 1 for him. You got a 1 for a player, who really was not worth a 1, because you found a desperate team who needed exactly that player at exactly the right time.
