I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility we sign one of JPP or Houston AND add Julio (cost permitting). I'm willing to bet a lot of money we add to the EDGE and WR rooms. Be nice if we can get someone like Quinn honestly but not sure how feasible that is
Yea i think we will add an wr eventually.. i mean we almost hve to.. i thought houston was dam near locked to rejoin us but i guess not… yea we may need jpp and houston or atleast one cause i cant see us making a run with all these inexperienced new guys we have

I still think you're probably only looking to add 1 more impact player at OLB as of now, and would still lean toward that being Houston. And in reality, it'll depend on Bowser's health. If he's good to go (and signs have sounded promising), then you have him, Oweh, Houston/vet, and Hayes as your top 4. You have Means and Biegel that could make the roster as OLB5, and then you have Moon who has apparently been the UDFA that has been impressing. Although it sounds like he's been back playing more ILB, you also have Harrison that can provide depth on the outside if you need it. I'd let those guys battle and see what shakes out and only add a 2nd impactful vet if someone there falters.

i can't see us adding more than 1 guy at edge

i think we could maybe see someone like biegel be LB 8 on the roster across both the EDGE and LB groups and maybe end up kicking a malik harrison off the roster - biegel would be EDGE 5 and LB 4 in this scenario and probably a special teamer - could be jeremiah moon too if he really has been showing out

the PS rules make the backend roster decisions a little easier though - you could maybe only carry 4 EDGEs if you have a couple of guys stashed on the PS

Essentially yes. I think we were all holding out hope when Ferguson was said to be in great shape, but I think the reality was still that he'd be at the back end of the roster and maybe an inactive on some occasions. It's not like we're replacing a starter. It's a depth guy and we have a few options there already in house.

he was someone we were still holding out hope for - who was given a final opportunity because the EDGE we drafted won't be ready until later in the year and because of the injuries around him at the position

there were opportunities for him to get snaps but not someone we were expecting significant contributions from

i liked him a hell of a lot more than stephen means and probably biegel too

Agreed. Of course I’d have much rather seen Ferguson on this roster that a guy like Biegel or Means, but I also don’t think his unfortunate death has any dire consequences in the roster battle. Basically, Ferguson being on the roster to now one of those vets isn’t likely to have any impact. You just had more long term hope for Ferguson of course.

I think it’s so tough that in the last year in addition to all our injuries, we had a player pass away and another get shot, both linebackers. What did we do to piss of the universe?

oh for sure - although i do think if tyus isnt ready to go, we've lost a guy who, at least early in the year, was gonna get a ton of edge setting reps and im not sure biegel or means offer that same level of power on the edge

either way you're right that this isn't franchise or paradigm altering for that unit

The idea of letting our young guys play and get some action is nice and all, but I'm not sure it's realistic to think that anyone behind Bateman (and maybe Proche) can contribute at a high level, or at least at a level we need to stay competitive against teams that like to be in shootouts. I'm also excited to see what WRs get cut in training camp that might help us
I really hope we don't get into a shoot out with the Bengals. If their offense gets going we won't be able to keep up.

If we have our players, we can keep up.

They would still have to score on our defense and when this unit is healthy that won’t be easy.

This ravens team could win a super bowl if they’re healthy, and they just might need to do it as a defensive team.

I've been hesitant, myself, to verbalize this, but since you opened the door... ^_^

We all know how crushed by injuries we were last year. They just snowballed out of control. Yet we were still within a score of winning most games. We were in the Playoff hunt until maybe week 13.

I'm excited to see what a healthy team can do. I'm very optimistic.

I'm quite optimistic as well. If we stay healthy, I see no reason we can't have a very succesful season indeed. Looking at our roster in regards to the other teams in the division, we match up well and imo beat them in a lot of areas.

Pittsburgh:Should be good defensively but on the other side of the ball QB is a bit shaky to say the least. Trubisky and Pickett may try to platoon it? Whatever the case, can't see them being too hot on that side of the ball.

Cincy: Yeah got to the SB, but let's be honest here it was a fluke run. Great young WR/QB combo but imo their Oline will let them down again and I'm not completely sold on their D.

Cleveland: Who the hell is ultimately going to be the QB? If they have to settle for Brissett, whole season will be a dumpster fire.

Call me crazy but if I had to predict right now; I have us winning division and getting at least to 12 wins if and yes a big if, we stay healthy.

Plus our running game would need to get back to '19/'20 levels. I'm not totally confident they will, BUT I won't rule it out.

I think we’re just kinda being slept on, burrow is in interviews shit talking, we had the 1 seed in week 12 with a massive outlier kinda season with injuries, we’re not only statistically due for a major bounce back but ya know the whole chip on the shoulder narrative too which the ravens tend to do really well with.

I think if we stay healthy we are making the afc title game and maybe beyond, but I’m probably way more optimistic than most

I'm with you. Said it before - all we need to do is not fuck up too much in the first half of the season, while we wait for recovering players to get in shape and form. If that happens, nobody's stopping us.

Im thinking Burrow tasted success too early and its a long fall off that cliff and with a stronger secondary to match up...............I'm always thinking SuperBowl. I'm optimistic as fuck.

What's the holdup on Houston? Should we be expecting a signing before training camp even if that means close to a month from now?

i think the deadline for him to be signed elsewhere is july 22nd - after that we've got exclusive rights to him and his 2 options at that point are accept the similar (but slightly inflated) contract that we gave him last year for 2022 or retire

vets join training camp on the 26th of july so it's highly likely we'll have a resolution in some form or another by then
