but this is a dead period where there's not supposed to be any coaching related contact or conversations between coaches and players
Yeah this is what I suspected. I guess its not soooo bad. TC is pretty soon right? Its not open to everyone, but the media will certainly be there.

i was a little underwhelmed but maybe i was expecting too much content out of a 3 day minicamp lol
the stuff with koch and orr was gold dust though
Oh yeah lol and where one of those days was at the arcade. But I liked listening to Zeitler and learning more about our player coaches

Both of those guys seem like they're going to be really good coaches. Koch's attention to detail in breaking down mechanics was great stuff.

it's notable that most teams don't even have 1 specialist coach for their specialists

the ravens now have 2 with randy brown and sam koch

we didnt get to see much of Orr coaching the fundamentals in the wired segment but we've seen he's been a player favourite since before he left for the jags - constantly surrounded by and engaged with the players on the sideline as an assistant coach in 2019 and 2020

Earl Thomas situation finally came to a close. $1.5M vs. $10M so fair to say we won that one.

Damn. So is there an accurate number on what we have available?
I usually go off RSR...

Two things I see about this though...
1. I don't think he's reflecting ET's number in there, so available cap space would actually be ~$2.4M when factoring that in.
2. This includes the tender we've made to Justin Houston. Very few other sites I've seen are including this. If he were to sign elsewhere in the next like 3 weeks or whatever it is, we would gain another ~$2.3M.

So effectively you have ~$4.7M in cap today, with about half of that earmarked for Houston.

Basically anybody we sign next will require some kind of contract restructure/extension to do it, and we'll need to do at least that by early September anyway to fill out the roster and have cap space to play with in the season.

Ok thanks so much. What this basically implies is if we wanted to roll into the season right now including Houston we'd be ok. However if we want to bring in literally anyone else, as you said, we'll need to do some restructuring.

still an easy marlon restructure we can do at basically any point before the start of the season to save up to 7.1m - and can still restructure in-season to save some cap too, just the max amount won't be as high depending on how far into the season it is

ronnie stanley an option too if needed, especially as we get closer to the season and there's more clarity on his health status - would make no difference to his guaranteed money if he's restructured (because the salary that would be restructured is already fully guaranteed) but the risk would be that you're pushing that guaranteed money later in the deal and turning it into potential dead money

tons of flexibility in those 2 contracts if we need it

I don't want anything to do with DK or Deebo. However, they're probably the two pieces left to fall yet this offseason. It could be that it's just them staying, who knows.

I'd expect the niners to trade Garrapolo and pay Deebo. DK I think probably also stays in Seattle

obviously costs would be prohibitive
but is that the only reason you wouldnt want anything to do with those 2?
